Suspended: Vagabond Circus Book One (YA AUDIO)

Do you believe in magic? Maybe after this circus, the Vagabond Circus.  It is a different kind of circus, although I can't quite put my finger on it yet, they have the normal circus things, acrobats, trapeze artists, and jugglers, but something is different about this circus, something magical.
Author Sarah Noffke has another hit on her hands with another spin on her wonderful dream traveler world.  This book has plenty of action and suspense and that is before she throws in the circus part of the story which by the way is awesome and if you didn't know better you would have thought she actually spent time with a circus (she did).  I had the audiobook version and voice actor Steve Barnes does a amazing job with all the different characters, their unique personalities and stories.  He kept the story exciting and me on the edge of my seat just waiting to find out what happens.  This is a awesome match between author and narrator and I can't wait to hear what happens next under the big top.

It shows how one virus in a busy place can change things very fast and for the worst.  but this Marine Veteran and his son are on their way to O'Hara airport to pick up his brother when everything turns into an action packed and suspenseful adventure that is not to be missed.

Ashes of the Unspeakable: Book Two in the Borrowed World Series (ADULT AUDIO)

Jim and his friends are still trying to get home, the women that chose the FEMA camp are now understanding what Jim was talking about and wish they had gone with him.  Jim's family are also realizing Jim's views were not so far off and are toughening up, but do they actually see the real danger before their eyes, will Jim make it home in time to help them?
This book is so suspenseful and action packed you can't help but become entranced.  I had the audio and with the awesome narrator Kevin Pierce saying the ongoing mantra of  "I've got to get home" throughout the book, so what is not to love.  Mr. Pierce does a great job voicing all of the characters, but with Jim all I picture is a teddy bear of a man that will do anything for his friends, but will also do anything to get home to his family, so you better not stand in his way.  This was such a wonderful listen I can't wait to hear what happens next to Jim, his family and the gang.

Sarah Noffke and Tim Campbell have teamed up again for a awesome audiobook, but I am sure if  you just want to read the book for yourself you will still love Ms. Noffke's book and out snarky, tell it like it is friend Ren.

In an apocalypse that takes over the land people now live on boats.  Ester  and her friends live o the Catalina, but after 16 years things start to break, one of those thing is the desalination system, and on Esters watch.  But when they meet up with the Galaxy flotilla a flotilla of Galaxy cruise ships and many other ships that  have joined up with them or they have found and taken, trading does not go as planned.
This is a wonderful, action packed, suspenseful book.  The characters are great, I had the audio, narrated by Ray Greenley and he gave each character a different voice which helped me to fall in love with the characters and the story.  Mr. Greenley really made this story for me, he gave this story a pulse and it grew from there.  This book (author) and the narrator just go together so well  I hope to get to some day listen to book two and beyond of this series.  Because I can't wait to find out what happens to Ester and her friends and of course the Catalina.

This is another wonderful, kick butt book by Kim Creswell.  I love Whitney Steel, she is one tough lady, I want to be her when I grow up.  The action and suspense in this sequel to Reflections is so intense you can't stop reading/listening you just have to find out what happens.  Rebecca Hansen does a great job making this story her own.  I love this series and this book but it is a adult book for sure.

This is a exciting, action packed, suspense filled book.  I really enjoyed it and think it would be really cool to have a dad like Grace's.  You also get some glimpses into Grace's childhood which is really insightful and awesome.  I had the audio version narrated by Kevin Pierce who did such a awesome job on this book I can't wait for more.  Mr. Pierce really ahs a way with bringing these characters to life and giving you someone to root for in these tough times.

This book is filled with a ton of action and suspense, you might just fall off of your seat while rooting for Em, Rogue and all of their friends.  These characters are all so strong and smart you will wish they were your friends, they are that awesome and their bonds are so strong.  I had the audio narrated by the wonderful Elizabeth Klett, she did such a great job, I totally lost myself in this book and found myself wanting to help and cheering Em and Rogue on myself.  She just made this book so awesome for me, what a wonderful author narrator team I hope they stay together for a long time.

This book shows Tony Stark from child to him as a adult still inventing, still trying to the right thing.  There is enough action in this book to keep anyone's attention through the whole book, because there is so much of it.  There are so many twists and turns you will think  you are on a roller coaster.  Watch out for the AI it may or may not be what it seems.  This is a awesome book for all the Iron Man fans as well as the Eoin Colfer and Marvel fans.

Vigilance

This book follows Abe Haws, son of war hero Isaac Haws, from the academy to Vitaly Three.  The reader gets to see how the man was made and why he did the things he did.  I understand that that was very vague but I am afraid much more might spoil it and it is way to good for me to do that to anyone.
This is a great sci-fi book and no you don't need to have any knowledge of Nick Webb's Legacy Fleet to understand this book but you might find yourself really wanting to read it after you read this, just a warning.  If you are familiar with Legacy Fleet this should fill in some blanks for you, so no harm either way.  This is just another awesome book by the Swardstrom brothers that you just do not want to miss.

The was an awesome story despite what you might think.  It brings up a lot of social issues that will make you think but has some very funny parts as well.  Narrator Patricia Santomasso is a amazing Cara, but portrays all the characters wonderfully.  She really does make this book wonderful.  This is a really great book give it a try, you won't regret it.

In this book the Black Widow now has a protégé but she is used to working alone for so long it is unknown hoe this teaming up so she can teach her new hero in training will work.  What is worse is both Widows, Black and Red, are after the same people, one cunning and precise, the other more headlong and reckless.
In the sequel to Black Widow Forever Red Margaret Stohl raised the bar, the action is non-stop, and the suspense sometimes will keep you up past your bedtime until you find out what happens.  However, it is the twists and turns that keep you guessing how things will turn out in the end.  I really liked this awesome book even more than the first.  Sometime I would also love to review the audios of this series to hear how  the narrator puts her spin on the book as well.

This was another awesome audiobook by narrator Jack de Golia, and after 9 Project audio's he is the voice of the project for me.  His voices for each of the characters are the ones I have come to know and love, especially Ronnie, he is my favorite.  Mr. de Golia also breaths life into the story as he reads it, it just flows so nicely, I can't imagine the Project any other way.

The Borrowed World: A Novel of Post-Apocalyptic Collapse (ADULT AUDIO)

Jim Powell is long way from home, on a business trip with some co-workers, when the U.S. is attacked and life as we know it changes in the blink of a eye.  But all Jim wants is to get home to his wife and kids.  With thousands of other trapped travelers and very little law enforcement, things get really interesting really fast, but has Jim planned well enough?
I found this book especially interesting as I was about half way though it when hurricane Matthew became a real threat to Florida.  I could see things happening on the news and from what family and friends who live there where reporting, and how it paralleled this book.  We have had our own issues here where I live in Kentucky with major week long power outages after ice and wind storms, but you never think of what would happen if the whole country went down at once and for a very prolonged period of time.  It makes you think, for a fiction book this one hits close to home.
This book is really good, it is action packed and the suspense will have you falling off of your seat.  The characters are ordinary people just trying to get by.  I had the audiobook version narrated by Kevin Pierce who does an awesome job giving each character its own personality in voice and attitude.  He really shaped this story and kept Jim Powell's character honest and real to what he says he is, a man who just wants to get home to his family.

I had the audiobook version narrated by Kara Kovacich Stewart and it was awesome.  I don't always bring up my dyslexia, but sometime I stay away from reading these books because the made up names for things make the book really hard to read but when I can get them in audio form I really enjoy them a lot, and when you have someone like Kara Kovacich Stewart narrate the book then you feel really special as she makes it an enchanting experience, I can't wait to listen to the next one and find out what happens.

This is a awesome historical fiction book that is a part of WWII you don't hear much about.  It is nice to hear a different part of this time in our history, and from a different point of view not often voiced.  This book is chalked full of action and suspense, so there is something for everyone and you will learn a lot without knowing it.  The story flows wonderfully and the characters are all well rounded and believable.  They show real emotion and are just awesome and brave people.

Kala, typical high school sophomore girl by day, awesome closet scientist, and loving big sister by night.  But it is what happens to their city that changes everything.
This is not exactly a zombie book, but it is one of the best plague type books I have read, well listened too.  I loved the side story that explained how the virus got to Florida in the first place, that was really cool, especially since I don't live there.  It also really liked the how the story shows how the virus spreads and the only way to stop it as of that time.  The book was very precise without the reader knowing it, no facts and figures but still precise.
I had the audio version narrated by Melanie Ewbank and she does a awesome job.  There was one spot I knew it was coming because I actually did the books backwards, but she was so good with her voices and the emotions she puts into them she had me crying.  Ms. Ewbank is just a awesome narrator and this is just a awesome book.

This is a exciting and fast pace book that will keep you on the edge of your seat throughout the whole book.  Virtually every page had some sort of trial for the two to overcome, and the added suspense is so thick I don't think it could be cut, even with one of Leo's inventions.  Keeping all of this in mind, this is a wonderful book for all readers, enjoy.

This is not your typical zombie story - it is way better and really, maybe it could happen.  This is such an awesome start to a action packed series.  Book one Origins is just that, the start, and I can't wait until I can get book two and more.  I had the audio narrated by Jack Wallen Jr. who was awesome!  He made each character come alive with a voice of his or her own, and that really made the book great, I will continue on with the audios.

This is a awesome action packed, really action packed, suspenseful book.  This is a different kind of post-apocalyptic book where electrical storms are one of the really bad, killer things to avoid.  But still there are always a few good men and women willing to lay down their life for the rest.  I can't wait for the next part of this trilogy to come out and see what happens next.

This is probably one of the funniest sci-fi type books I have ever read.  This was my first book by Robert Kroese, so I wasn't sure what to expect, but I was not disappointed.  Erasmus Keane is the funny but smart Sherlock Holmes to Fowler's down to earth Watson.

If you read or listened to the first Ren Book: Ren Man Behind the Monster you will love this one.  Narrator Tim Campbell is back with the audio version.  If you are new to the series, well I don't often say this, but this is one series you really should listen too.  Tim Campbell makes the most awesome Ren Lewis, think Stewie from Family Guy all grown up.  Snarky, narcissistic, funny, genius and awesome.

Beyond the Stars at Galaxy's Edge (ADULT)

This is written by 12 amazing sci-fi authors that have come together under the Beyond the Stars title. They offer such awesome tales that take place in different worlds and in most cases aren't even human characters but each of the 12 stories takes place on the edge, of space that is.
I really enjoyed each of the 12 stories, many by authors I already know, and some by new authors I can't wait to read more of. Adam Quinn's "Procurement" is one of those new authors I can't wait to read more of, his story goes hand in hand with his new book just out. My favorite is by a new author, Michael Ezell entitled "The Good Food" in which a Jensen and his dog Roy are sent to a planet to terraform it, only problems arise, I will leave it there, but working with dogs I loved this story. Christopher Valin's story "Just An Old Fashion Lust Story" is a story of true karma, and will leave you with a huge smile at the end And Nick Webb's story "Second Place", well, any one would love that story whether or not they like sci-fi or not, it's just that good. Every time I read one of these compilations I don't think they can get much better but they always do, I can't wait to see what they have in store next.

I usually get the audiobooks and can not say enough about narrator Jack de Golia he is wonderful and he does the character voices so well, that you just get lost in the book like you are there and part of the team.  it is awesome and I can't wait for the next one.

The White Dragon 01 Genesis (ADULT AUDIO)

Kasey Byrne's loves the ocean, even from a young age she couldn't resist it's pull, even if it was just to play in the sand and watch the sun come up, until the one morning a strange man gives her a necklace with a amulet.  Fast forward several years to Kasey's 18th birthday, when everything should be perfect, but goes wrong.  Something changes in Kasey, but she is not sure if it is good or bad yet.
Stefan Bolz took a very ordinary world we live in and very literally turned it on its ear, in this very exciting, action packed book.  His way with words lets you see everything in your mind so your not missing a thing.  If you had the audio like I did you also had narrator Hank Garner  using his voice to also help paint that picture for you in which he did a great job.  I can't wait for The White Dragon 02: Crucible to come out on audible as well so I can find out what happens to our ragtag little group.

Deranged (ADULT AUDIO)

Sixteen year old Kala is determined that she and her new friends will survive this new zombie epidemic brought on by mosquitos.  But it is not only the Zombies the new world must recover from because in trying to wipeout the disease carrying mosquitos the people have started a major chain reaction of killing off the food supply.  The circle of life has been destroyed, but can it be fixed? Humm, Zika maybe?
This book although sci-fi makes you think about the Zika and what really should be done and how far we should go to eradicate such diseases.  The author is very insightful and has a action packed, suspenseful great book.  Narrator, Melanie Ewbank does a great job on all of the characters, and I just love narrators like her that take the time to make the story.  They read each character as if they are that person at that time and it makes you the listener feel as though you are there in the middle and it is happening right then and it is awesome. Thank you for that experience, I hope to come across more of your works in the future.  Maybe even to see what Kala is up to next.

Legacy Fleet Alt. Chronicles

Fourteen stories that span the universe, a universe in conflict, and will need the courage of many to help to find peace, if possible, among those that will be left  when it is all over.
These stories range from first contact with the Swarm, to cadets at the training academy, to a very old conspiracy theory, coming to head at a very inopportune moment.  But these are just a few points in a start studded chart of short stories that will have you asking for more.

Dust (YA AUDIO)

It is depression times and the farmers are in the middle of a drought.  Young Robert's brother has disappears and months latter it is like Robert is the only one that remembers his brother even existed.  A odd man shows up in town promising he can make it rain if the towns people help him build a rainmill.  Robert's father signs right up but Roberts uncle refuses not trusting the man.  Things get even stranger from there, but somehow Robert is not affected and must help save his brother, family, friend, and possibly the whole town.
This book started right off with high octane suspense and never stopped.  The characters are all very well put together and very interesting.  I had the audio version which the author narrated himself and did a awesome job.  The different voices for the different characters were really good and he really made the story come alive for me through the eyes of young Robert, it was amazing.  I hope there are more books like this because I really enjoyed this audio and will definitely look for from this author.

Legendarium (ADULT AUDIO)

Every so often certain people are chosen to protect the Legendarium from the forces that threaten to send the Earth back into darkness.  This generation it is Bombo Dawson, a new author, and Alistair Foley, a reviewer who pretty much hates everything he reads especially Bombo Dawson's  works, that are chosen to protect the Legendarium.  Their adventures take them through the looking glass all the way to Moby Dick, the only book they seem to agree on liking.
If you like history and literature you will love this  book as it is chalked full of both, although, I have to say I am not much of a fan of both, and I actually loved the book, I guess I loved how the authors brought it to life.  I mean heck you got to love it when Hemmingway wanted to punch Alistair in the nose for messing up his story.  I think this book is quite likely the most overlooked book of our time, and I enjoyed every minute of it.  I would also like to thank Robert Rossmann who was the awesome narrator of the audiobook version which I had and was so good I can not speak highly enough of it.  He did such a great job on all of the characters voices and bringing the story (or should I say stories) to life it was great, I really hope Bombo and Alistair come back again.  If the do I'll buy the doughnuts.

The is the second book in the series the first Secret Coders is also a awesome book for young coders wishing to get in on the ground floor.  These books start with three unlikely kids that are thrown together by chance, but each brings something to this team that will help with the journey of learning code and they do it the fun way.  These books are made for everyone even the most reluctant of readers will find these books fun and exciting.  The chapters are short and leave you hanging and wanting to know what happens and to know more so it will keep everyone reading, who knows mom and dad even you or grandmother and granddad might pick up a little code too if you don't watch out.

The Hill (YA)

Jared, a spoiled rich kid, plane crashes in the wilderness.  When he insists on hiking up a hill to try and get a cell signal, that Kyle, a Cree, has told him his grandmother has forbidden him to go near.  Jared goes anyways believing it is just Cree superstition, and Kyle reluctantly follows.  Soon both boys find themselves in a forest that just isn't right and now they are being hunted.
This is a out of this world book for anyone who enjoys lore and legends especially Native American lore.  This is my first book by Karen Bass but I loved it and will be looking for more.  This book is full of action, suspense, and has you on the edge of your seat  the whole time holding your breath.  I really enjoyed this book and wish Jared and Kyle would take me with them to see Crazy Horse as it is on my wish list also if they get to go.

Flashpoint (ADULT)

Taylor goes back and tries to save her homeworld from total destruction doing the one thing she never  wanted to do again, but she might be the only one that can stop it.  But there are also other political tug a wars going on across the galaxy that might do even more damage if not handled right and by the proper people.  Can the son of a dead politician help prevent another huge mistake from happening?
This book sends you to many places and you meet a lot of people, and if you can keep them all straight in this awesome, action packed, galaxy of a book you will love it.  The book moves fast and the characters a re well rounded and have interesting backstories that set them up nicely.  The story was great and I can't wait for the Drive Maker book 2 of the trilogy to come out, and I really hope these come out on audio.

This is me (ADULT)

Rogan is a assist AI, given to Chloe as a graduation gift for companionship and protection in the city as she looks for a new job and herself, all while trying to pay the bills.  But the day her very obedient, funny, dependably, wonderful, loving, AI decides he doesn't want to be that way anymore and disobeys Chloe, makes her start to think of him in a very different light.  Is this what her friends have been trying to tell her or is there something more going on?
Even though this was suppose to be a romance story I found it to be a much more thought provoking story on AI and how they could possible evolve on their own depending on love and developing emotions and what that would mean for the human race.  This was a very well thought out book with well rounded characters that where full and complete.  I am not much of a romance fan but loved the sci-fi part and still found this book mesmerized me and kept me wondering what will happen to Rogan and what will Chloe do.  I think you will find this book interesting no matter which genre you favor.

Reflections: A Whitney Steel Novel (ADULT AUDIO)

Reporter Whitney Steel is looking for the big story and when she catches a lead on the first cloned human, a small girl named Angel, it is almost the death of her.  In steps undercover FBI Agent Blake (cutey guy)to save the day, well I think it turn into a week, thereabouts.  But he also has his own job and agenda to take care of, besides keeping a nosey reporter in one piece, especially one he has fallen in love with.
This is a great book with non-stop action and some well placed twists and turns to keep you guessing.  The characters are well rounded and likeable, well most of them.  The story flows at a great pace.  I had the audio version and found that narrator Rebecca Hansen did a great job on the different characters voices, especially as she settled into them.  Which ever format you choose I hope you will love Whitney and Blake as much as I do as I hear the are coming back for more books so look for the next book called Retribution out now, and the audio coming soon.

This book is true Barry Lyga in the fact that there are so many twists, turns and traps that you won't see what is coming a mile away.  This book is awesome and literally takes you into another world like you have never seen before.
