Merchants of War (BAMF: Broken Arrow Mercenary Force Book 1) (ADULT)

This is a action packed sci-fi, militaristic book, and boy was it good.  We are still up against the Russians and they are still out to turn our own guys against us.  But we have our best going against them, no really our best, because for a while the U.S. was cloning our best so that even if the prime died we would have another waiting in the wings.  This was an awesome book Nate and his team of mercenaries will suck you in and hold your interest until you have found that the book is done and you to will be looking for the second book like me only to find that you have to wait for it to come out, ugh.

Into the Outside (YA AUDIO)

This is a very different type of dystopian book as there is some fighting but not the amount you have seen in other books at least not yet, this is only book 1.  Isabella has grown up in a shelter knowing only what her grands have taught her, until the day comes when some mutants start living right above them literally.  When Isabella sneaks out to learn more about these visitors she also learns maybe what she has grown up believing has been wrong, maybe her grands are not right and have lied to her all these years and the mutants are not there to steal everything they have, that they just want a safe place to raise their families too.  Next thing Isabella knows she is in love with the mutant leader Malcolm and is walking away from her family and leaving with Malcolm and the mutants, and to certain death.
This is such a exciting book filled with suspense and action galore.  The audio narrated by Carlo Libertini was top notch and made this truly a joy to listen too.  It made you feel as though you were there and a part of the adventure either with Isabella and Malcolm or with Luke the brother that refuses to give up.

Silicon Dawn (ADULT AUDIO)

Humans and mechs now are so close people can't tell them apart, but that doesn't mean that the prejudice isn't still there, really now it is worse than ever.  But Adam just goes on and is determined more than ever to show his worth and how much the mechs can help humans and that they won't hurt the humans  Will the humans ever accept the mechs or Adam?
This is a interesting book on so many levels, but beside the obvious this book is full of action, suspense and twists.  Some you might see coming but others you won't see coming, but either way this book will have you reading or if you are lucky enough listening past your bedtime to see what happens next.  The  audio narrated by the  very talented Joe Hempel is awesome he brings the story to life while listening he makes each character individual in your brain and the world they live in so vivid it is amazing, you won't be disappointed in either format you choose.

Time's Anchor (ADULT AUDIO)

Ophelia's husband took part in a study in college to get money he needed since he was constantly broke and it paid very well, but now he is paying the price in time.  No he doesn't have cancer or anything like that, but he disappears randomly and is sent all over time, the first time he was sent he was dropped in the middle of the civil war. But it is really Ophelia and the other wives that pay the price. But after one the travelers is found dead, they shift their focus to trying to make their disappearances stop, but can they do it before any one is hurt or anymore are hurt?
This is a very different type of time travel book as there is no control over when, where or how long.  This book sucked me in from the very beginning and never let me go.  If you are lucky enough to have gotten the audio narrated by the very talented Ann Bumbak than you are most certainly in for a treat as this story told from Ophelia's point of view comes alive through Mrs. Bumbak's awesome storytelling.  So if you get this book in audio or print I think you will like this tale of love through time.

Serafina and the Seven Stars (The Serafina Series Book 4) (MG)

Serafina can feel something is wrong but doesn't know what it is, but then when things started to  actually go wrong she doesn't know what to do she can't believe what she is seeing  or thinking, she just knows she has to keep the ones she loves safe any way she can.
I am sorry if my intro doesn't exactly tell you to much about the book but I always try to not include spoilers  and the whole book is so full of action and suspense from the very beginning that it is one huge book of spoiler. So what can I say, Mr. Beatty has topped himself greatly with this book, seriously we had to wait a bit because he slipped that wonderful Willa of the Wood book in on us last year but it was well worth it and worth the wait as this book is so good, you will see, the story line is as enchanting as the setting it is in, the Blue Ridge mountains of North Carolina.  This is one book that will pull you in and have you up reading well past your bedtime, it did me.

The Chestnut Challenge: The Nocturnals (Grow & Read Early Reader, Level 3

This is another wonderful adventure with our friends Bismark the sugar glider, Dawn the fox, Tobin the pangolin.  In this book they meet a new friend Chandler the chinchilla, he claims to be the chestnut (checkers) champion, but after a rough start the friend come together and decide playing for fun is much better than playing for champions.  I really like these book because besides meeting new animals you learn a lesson in a calm friendly way, and this is so helpful in such a angry world we live in today. These books also show diversity even though it is animal diversity it still shows inclusion of someone different than themselves.  The illustration are soft and inviting, the story is one that won't be forgotten, and the activities in the back round out this book as a complete storytime.

Captain Ginger: Volume One (GRAPHIC NOVEL)

This was the coolest graphic novel ever! Especially if you like cats.  It seems as thought the humans of this doomed space ship have all died and now the cats in order to save themselves have taken over and are now the crew, and you will get a glimpse into their life as they learn how to work together to save the ship and each others lives.  What can I say this graphic novel is awesome from the illustrations to the way the cats think, if you like cats even in the littlest and sci-fi this is the book for you.

Teen Titan: Raven (YA)

This is a awesome book that shows the beginning of Raven and her back story,  The characters all work together and are as realistic as a super hero story can be.  The story is set in New Orleans the only place for a  story like this, and  right after the last of Raven's family as she knew it has  died, and left her  with amnesia.  Things are happening to her she does not understand and she must work to find what they are, but can her foster sister and foster mother really help?  This book never stands still it will have you on the edge of your seat all the way through.
