Retribution: A Whitney Steel Novel Book 2 (AUDIO ADULT)

Whitney has been kidnapped and Blake is on the trail, but Blake has his own problems, there is a bounty on his head.  If Blake is to get Whitney back he must travel to Columbia's biggest drug trafficker, Pablo Sanchez.
This is another wonderful, kick butt book by Kim Creswell.  I love Whitney Steel, she is one tough lady, I want to be her when I grow up.  The action and suspense in this sequel to Reflections is so intense you can't stop reading/listening you just have to find out what happens.  Rebecca Hansen does a great job making this story her own.  I love this series and this book but it is a adult book for sure.

Locker Nine (AUDIO ADULT)

Grace Hardwick's college life has changed when her school and other parts of the US are attacked.  She gets a call through to her dad, Robert, who writes books about the apocalypse and prepping, he reminds her to use the key he gave her, Grace is confused but he just says use the key before being cut off.  Once she follows the coordinates on the key and finds a fully stocked storage locker, locker number nine, of everything she will need to get home.  This is the story of that trek home.
This is a exciting, action packed, suspense filled book.  I really enjoyed it and think it would be really cool to have a dad like Grace's.  You also get some glimpses into Grace's childhood which is really insightful and awesome.  I had the audio version narrated by Kevin Pierce who did such a awesome job on this book I can't wait for more.  Mr. Pierce really ahs a way with bringing these characters to life and giving you someone to root for in these tough times.

Defects: The Reverians Book 1 (AUDIO YA)

Em lives in the perfect place for dream travelers, except she is one of a new generation where it seems some are not being blessed with their psychic gifts, they are considered defects.  But when Em finds out the shocking truth behind why she hasn't received her gift, she is torn with how to fix this for all the other defects before it is to late and  hurting those she loves.
This book is filled with a ton of action and suspense, you might just fall off of your seat while rooting for Em, Rogue and all of their friends.  These characters are all so strong and smart you will wish they were your friends, they are that awesome and their bonds are so strong.  I had the audio narrated by the wonderful Elizabeth Klett, she did such a great job, I totally lost myself in this book and found myself wanting to help and cheering Em and Rogue on myself.  She just made this book so awesome for me, what a wonderful author narrator team I hope they stay together for a long time.

Iron Man: The Gauntlet (MG)

Tony Stark is known as many things but mostly Iron Man, protector, and avenger.  But when he is kidnapped  and the enemy wants to use his suit to kill innocent people, Tony must survive his own assassination and save the eco-ministers before it is to late, but can he win against Iron Man?
This book shows Tony Stark from child to him as a adult still inventing, still trying to the right thing.  There is enough action in this book to keep anyone's attention through the whole book, because there is so much of it.  There are so many twists and turns you will think  you are on a roller coaster.  Watch out for the AI it may or may not be what it seems.  This is a awesome book for all the Iron Man fans as well as the Eoin Colfer and Marvel fans.

The Horror Squad (ADULT AUDIO)

The world has changed but there is one group just trying to survive.  As part of the group lives in the power plant/school area and keeps it up and running, the other part has to go out frequently and scavenge for food and other supplies that might help during this apocalypse.  It is during one of these trips that things go very wrong.
This was a exciting, action filled, suspenseful, story of survival.  I totally enjoyed listening to S.W. Salzman narrating this book, he does such a awesome job with all the different characters and expressing their emotions in his voice, it was amazing.  I can't wait for more to hear what happens to T.J. and the crew.

Vigilance

This book follows Abe Haws, son of war hero Isaac Haws, from the academy to Vitaly Three.  The reader gets to see how the man was made and why he did the things he did.  I understand that that was very vague but I am afraid much more might spoil it and it is way to good for me to do that to anyone.
This is a great sci-fi book and no you don't need to have any knowledge of Nick Webb's Legacy Fleet to understand this book but you might find yourself really wanting to read it after you read this, just a warning.  If you are familiar with Legacy Fleet this should fill in some blanks for you, so no harm either way.  This is just another awesome book by the Swardstrom brothers that you just do not want to miss.

Transiet Echoes: The Variant Saga Book 2 (AUDIO)

It has been three years since the second big jolt and Terry is lost on a distant world far away from his friends and family, but he has the voice of his sister in his head to keep him company.  Back on earth Mei is work to death to figure out a way to see if they can bring Terry home.
This is a wonderful sequel to the Amber Project, it is filled with a ton of action and the suspense will have you falling off of your seat.  Narrator Steve Barnes does a great job again with the book his use of different voices for each character is awesome, he really hit this one out of the park.  I can't wait for the next part from these two guys and find out what happens to Terry and his friends.

Revolver (AUDIO ADULT)

Cara has nothing, so she is on a gameshow where if she kills herself they will give her family money.  But there has never been a contestant like Cara and I think it's safe to say there never will be again.
The was an awesome story despite what you might think.  It brings up a lot of social issues that will make you think but has some very funny parts as well.  Narrator Patricia Santomasso is a amazing Cara, but portrays all the characters wonderfully.  She really does make this book wonderful.  This is a really great book give it a try, you won't regret it.

Black Widow Red Vengeance (YA)

In this book the Black Widow now has a protégé but she is used to working alone for so long it is unknown hoe this teaming up so she can teach her new hero in training will work.  What is worse is both Widows, Black and Red, are after the same people, one cunning and precise, the other more headlong and reckless.
In the sequel to Black Widow Forever Red Margaret Stohl raised the bar, the action is non-stop, and the suspense sometimes will keep you up past your bedtime until you find out what happens.  However, it is the twists and turns that keep you guessing how things will turn out in the end.  I really liked this awesome book even more than the first.  Sometime I would also love to review the audios of this series to hear how  the narrator puts her spin on the book as well.

Treason (YA AUDIO)

Kara and Braedan must face truths both won't like, the Vagabond and Grimoire will help with what they can but each must find their own way and the truth within themselves.  They might find that to survive they must become the part of themselves they least want to be .
I wasn't sure how the last book could be topped , but this one picked up right where the last one left off  and the action and suspense didn't waver.  I went with the audiobook version narrated by Kara Kavocich Stewart who just brings Ourea and all of it's people to life.  I am so thankful for awesome narrators like her for many different reasons but mostly for bringing great books to life for me on days I am not able to read.  Her talent makes those days much more tolerable.

Black Rose (ADULT AUDIO)

The team is all together again and Project director Harker has determined they should eliminate their old enemies, Aeon, once and for all.  But of course there are complications, a deadly contagion that needs to be recovered and destroyed, and more secrets of Selena's past are coming out, ones even she didn't know about yet, but hey just another day at the project.
This was another awesome audiobook by narrator Jack de Golia, and after 9 Project audio's he is the voice of the project for me.  His voices for each of the characters are the ones I have come to know and love, especially Ronnie, he is my favorite.  Mr. de Golia also breaths life into the story as he reads it, it just flows so nicely, I can't imagine the Project any other way.

The Delphi Effect (YA)

Anna has a gift, but when a ghost can attach itself to you just by inadvertently touching something you might not see it as a gift either.  When Anna accidentally picks up the ghost of a murdered girl, Anna finds herself in the middle of a government conspiracy, not to mention the group that kidnaps her friend so she will join them and they can exploit her "gift".
This is a wonderful book, action packed, full of suspense, and has more twist and turns than a roller coaster.  It is well written and the characters are well rounded and believable.  I love this book  and I wanted to jump right in and help Anna.  I don't want to say to much for fear of spoilers, so you will just have to get your own awesome copy of The Delphi Effect and see for yourself, but Rysa Walker does not disappoint.

The Borrowed World: A Novel of Post-Apocalyptic Collapse (ADULT AUDIO)

Jim Powell is long way from home, on a business trip with some co-workers, when the U.S. is attacked and life as we know it changes in the blink of a eye.  But all Jim wants is to get home to his wife and kids.  With thousands of other trapped travelers and very little law enforcement, things get really interesting really fast, but has Jim planned well enough?
I found this book especially interesting as I was about half way though it when hurricane Matthew became a real threat to Florida.  I could see things happening on the news and from what family and friends who live there where reporting, and how it paralleled this book.  We have had our own issues here where I live in Kentucky with major week long power outages after ice and wind storms, but you never think of what would happen if the whole country went down at once and for a very prolonged period of time.  It makes you think, for a fiction book this one hits close to home.
This book is really good, it is action packed and the suspense will have you falling off of your seat.  The characters are ordinary people just trying to get by.  I had the audiobook version narrated by Kevin Pierce who does an awesome job giving each character its own personality in voice and attitude.  He really shaped this story and kept Jim Powell's character honest and real to what he says he is, a man who just wants to get home to his family.

Lichgates (YA AUDIO)

Kara has lost her mom and she blames herself.  But her dad is not much better, so when she and her dad take a trip to the mountains it looks to be a strained time between the two.  One morning Kara is up early and goes hiking only to find a weird gazebo thing, than somehow falls into a cool library with no doors.  All she wants is to go home, but this is when she finds out she is trapped as a new Vagabond by the Grimoire, in a odd land called Ourea, and they have very different plans for her, none of which is allowing her to go home.
I had the audiobook version narrated by Kara Kovacich Stewart and it was awesome.  I don't always bring up my dyslexia, but sometime I stay away from reading these books because the made up names for things make the book really hard to read but when I can get them in audio form I really enjoy them a lot, and when you have someone like Kara Kovacich Stewart narrate the book then you feel really special as she makes it an enchanting experience, I can't wait to listen to the next one and find out what happens.

This is the story of how Diana, Wonder Woman, came to be.  How her queen mother came to have a child in a race of all women, and how a spoiled princess came to be the hero many of girl today idolize.
This was a awesome graphic novel not only in story but in illustrations as well.  I hope we get to see  more of Wonder Woman from Jill Thompson as I would love to follow more of what happens to Diana as she tries to prove her worth and avenge herself in the eyes of her sisters.

Bjorn's Gift (MG)

This sequel to Odin's Promise, is set in Norway during World War 2.  Mari, a young woman, is still working to find herself, and her courage, in this new world she has found herself in, as even more Nazi's have come to live in her village and have even taken over her home and school.  This has made it much harder for the resistance fighters in her area, one of which is her big brother Bjorn.  But Mari will be strong, and brave just like Bjorn told her she could.
This is a awesome historical fiction book that is a part of WWII you don't hear much about.  It is nice to hear a different part of this time in our history, and from a different point of view not often voiced.  This book is chalked full of action and suspense, so there is something for everyone and you will learn a lot without knowing it.  The story flows wonderfully and the characters are all well rounded and believable.  They show real emotion and are just awesome and brave people.

Mari, Odin and Bjorn would be so proud of you.

Pathosis (ADULT AUDIO)

Kala, typical high school sophomore girl by day, awesome closet scientist, and loving big sister by night.  But it is what happens to their city that changes everything.
This is not exactly a zombie book, but it is one of the best plague type books I have read, well listened too.  I loved the side story that explained how the virus got to Florida in the first place, that was really cool, especially since I don't live there.  It also really liked the how the story shows how the virus spreads and the only way to stop it as of that time.  The book was very precise without the reader knowing it, no facts and figures but still precise.
I had the audio version narrated by Melanie Ewbank and she does a awesome job.  There was one spot I knew it was coming because I actually did the books backwards, but she was so good with her voices and the emotions she puts into them she had me crying.  Ms. Ewbank is just a awesome narrator and this is just a awesome book.
