This is wonderful selection of short stories by some of the best authors around, when it comes to supers. These authors can give any of the mainstream comic writers a go, and if you like the villains don't forget the heroes in It's a Bird! It's a Plane!: A Superhero Anthology it is just as good if not better, depending on whether you are a dark side person or a light side person. Some of my favorites from supervillains are:
Dreamer from Hank Garner: What can be so bad about giving a 18 year old a journal, I mean really what do they write about anyways? Their dreams, the real ones.
The Collector from David Bruns: Mr. Rogers and Mr. Smith, hum interesting names, but Mr. Rogers has a very special talent that Mr. Smith needs, at least for a while.
Now Comes the Bringer of Blight from Ed Gosney: When Zach's superpowers make him go bad his best friend, Cody, is there for him. Cody helps to set him straight the only way a normal kid can compared to a super.
Redemption from Ian Garner: All the supers are gone but two. Both bad, but one feeling regrets for all the things he did over the years, and wanting to make amends. The other younger and hoping to become god of earth. The fight is on.
The Arch-Nemesis from Christopher J Valin: Battlegear, the bad guy, and Eaglestar, the good guy, are duking it out the only way they know how, the dirty way, low blows and such. But what happens when one doesn't want to play any more and takes his ball and goes home.
As you can see this is a different side to some of the villains, one you might never get to see, a more interesting side one you don't want to miss.
You also don't want to miss out on a chance to maybe find a new wonderful author out of these twelve top notch writers
