Lightbringer (The Empirium Trilogy Book 3) (YA)

Two queens separated by a thousand years but connected by Corien who will use one to get back to the other he loves.  One queen wants to save her world the other destroy it.  When the prophets start talking everything just might change and turn this war, but which way?

I feel I missed a lot having missed the second book, but I liked the first book Furyborn so much I took a chance I could catch up.  That was hard and made it difficult to stay focused on this the third book.  That is on me, so I will not make that the books fault.  This was a very exciting and action packed book with more twists and turns than a spaghetti noodle.  It is well written with great characters, the book alternates between the two queens and time periods.  It is a good series and I hope to get book two someday than reread this book and give it everything it deserves.

Dragonwatch The Champions of the Titan Games (MG)

Seth and Kendra are doing all they can to get the favor of the giant queen to help them with the dragons, that are sure to attack the Titan Valley as it is the most demeaning place for dragons to live.  The giants treat the dragons as slaves there, even Kendra and Seth don't much care for that treatment.  But can they convince the giant queen to help them or even any giants, this is the mission they have ever been on, but can they finish it.

I love these books they are so filled with action and suspense that I just can not put the books down.  I really love the series all the way back to the Fablehaven part. I really hope Brandon Mull keeps writing about this world because I really need to know how everyone comes out of this.

Dear Child (ADULT)

Jasmin is abducted and her abductor makes her transform down to the scar on her forehead into Lena, a girl she doesn't know, but obviously is special to the man and his two children, to whom she is now to be the mother of.  They all live in a windowless cabin out in the woods, and the man controls everything including bathroom times.  But Jasmin is not Lena and wants out, but she isn't sure how since the man locks everything and he has the only keys.
This book is so thrilling I read it in two sittings, Romy Hausmann definitely has a hit on her hands.  This book is action packed and very suspenseful, and it will certainly tug at many emotions as you move through the book.  It has a web of darkness, lies, captivation, and unpredictability.  The story and characters all come together in a way you will never see until the end.  This is one of those books that will have you reading past your bedtime and than up the rest of the night with every light on.

Tristan Strong Destroys the World (MG)

Tristan and his friends are back, along with some new ones.  This time trying to save both his world and theirs from collapsing, but is this a race Tristan can win.
This the second book in the Tristan Strong series is just as good if not better than the first, if that is possible.  The fast paced, non stop action and suspense, will leave you on overload and up way past your bed time.  These books bring back the old songs of the south stories along with many tall tales for a new generation to explore and enjoy.   This book will even keep the attention of most reluctant readers.  This is a series not to be missed.

Channel Kindness: Stories of Kindness and Community (ADULT)

This is a book about people who saw a need in their community and through kindness and determination filled it.  Sometimes against bullies other times breaking through the stigma of mental health, or LGBTQ+.  These people had the strength when no one else did and they made the change they wanted to see.  As you read or  listen to their stories you will see how people can be broken so easy and how either they or others helped put those pieces back together before it was too late.

I almost passed this audio book by I though it was just another popular rich celebrity writing a book on something they thought would sell since the word kindness seems to be in vogue right now. I could NOT have been more wrong and even though I am not a music person (more of a audio book person) Lady GAGA has my total appreciation for everything she does to help these people to voice their strengths and help in ways only they will probably ever know.  I hope this book gets spread far and wide and everyone, no matter who, has the chance to read it, this book deserves to be set free.

Be kind because kindness has not been cancelled, sometimes you might have to look hard for it, other times it might fall into your lap, but kindness is always there.

All This Time (YA)

Kyle's long time girlfriend, Kimberly, breaks up with them on their way to the pond after a graduation party, but they don't make it, the car is destroyed along with Kyle's whole world.  He wakes up with a broken leg, a traumatic brain injury, and the grief and guilt that comes with knowing Kimberly is dead.  It is a long road to healing but it helps he has found someone like himself that understands his guilt, Marley.  Marley becomes his whole world as the year progresses. But neither will see what is to come, will Kyle lose Marley forever?
This is a great book with twists and turns that will keep you on the roller coaster ride till the end of the book just to see what happens next. You will be up way past your bedtime reading this book, and I hope you all will like it as much as I do.

Skyhunter (YA)

After fleeing her home and the federation, Talin works her way into the most elite branch of fighters in her new home, Mara, the Strikers.  She lost her voice fleeing her home from some chemical burns but that doesn't hold her back since the Strikers rely on silence or they will bring on the awful ghosts of the federation down upon themselves and have to fight them without the upper hand.  After Talin loses her shield, the only partner she has ever had, and her champion for being a Striker the Firstblade brings in a odd prisoner to put to death.  When Talin saves him, she is told he is her new shield and responsibility, however in the thick of battle they become bonded in a way no one saw coming.
Marie Lu has another fast paced, suspense filled, hit on her hand and trust me when I say the first book will leave you clamoring for more.  The characters are awesome and so is how they come together in the story.  You will stay up way past your bed time just to see what happens next it is that exciting.  Yes, I too want Ms. Lu to hurry so I can read more about these friends.

Pawsitively Cursed (ADULT AUDIO)

Amber Blackwell is getting ready for the big fashion show like everyone else in their small town.  When her aunt Gretchen shows up claiming she just needs to be near family, but the cat comes out of the bag when Amber's sister Willow shows up out of the blue as well.  It seems the Penhallows are coming and they are coming for Amber.

This is such a quaint and fun mystery book with a bit of witchcraft thrown in.  I think it was funny that all these clans where under this one city at a time but it seems none of the town members had a clue what was going on until Amber tells the sheriff, pure proof of small towness.  I really liked this (audio)book and hope to someday get to review the rest, yes they are that much fun.  Narrator Victoria Villarreal made this book even more exciting through her voice.  She brought to life all the characters and was able to make me feel all range of emotions as I progressed though the audio.  This is a great book no matter which format you choose.

The Conundrum of Collies (The Love & Pets Romantic Comedy Series Book 6) (ADULT)

Stevie and Logan made a deal that the would get married when they were very little and it was sealed with a kiss so you know it has to happen, kisses are bigger than pinky promises after all.  When Stevie's collie Bean keeps escaping to others yards in the neighborhood especially the one with chickens, Bean is a herding dog after all, he needs to herd.  So to try and tire him out and to check off her before I turn thirty list she joins a disc club, Bean takes to it fast and it looks like its working as well as meeting new interesting people, and maybe date some after all she is going to be thirty in a few weeks. That is when things get very interesting.

This book is as wonderful and fun as her other books.  I am not much into romance but I do love animals so I can not miss reading any of the Love and Pets series.  They can be read separately, they mention other characters from other books but not enough that they can not be read as a stand alone.  I will warn you once you read one you will want to read the others.

White Fox (YA)

When Thais and Manon's mom disappeared it turned their lives upside down sent away from there home by their father to live with a Aunt.  But now they have returned as young women for a show honoring their mother only to be left a clue that maybe she isn't dead after all, and maybe just maybe if they follow the clues in their mom's last manuscript they will be reunited with her.
This is a psychological thriller that will have you up way past your bedtime to see where they go next and who among the cast of characters may have helped their mom or can help them decipher the clues.  There is plenty of action and a world of suspense to keep you captivated.  This is a great book and one to go on the TBR pile for sure.

Maya and the Rising Dark (MG)

Maya is a remarkable twelve year old girl with even more remarkable friends who will stand by her even in the dark.  Into the dark is where they must go to find and rescue Maya's dad, the keeper of the veil.  Maya finds out the hard way that her dads business is not quite what it seems, and her neighborhood as well, almost like her dads stories set in her favorite comic book world.  Her dad is a god and is tasked with keeping the veil between our world and the dark intact so the darklings don't cross into our world.
I left the summary of the book short on purpose I didn't want to have any spoilers.  But this is a wonderful book where science and comic book stories rule, and tweens learn their own strengths.  This is a well thought out books with awesome characters that anyone can relate to one or more of, and can hold the attention of even a reluctant readers.

Limitless: Terran Sea Chronicles, Book 2 (YA AUDIO)

Sela and Jack live in a dystopian world where they have both been experimented on.  Jack's new abilities are flight while Sela's are under the water.   Both are fighting to free themselves and the other kids from the grips of Nerissa, but as Sela makes her way back home she discovers things are not how she left them including her father who might not be the man she thought he was.

This is a wonderful book alternating views from Sela and Jack.  This book is full of action and has twists and turns that will keep you on your toes.  The audio is narrated by Aimee Smith and Nicholas Cain, who are both quite talented and play their parts so well, if you get the audio form of the book you won't be disappointed, it is really good.  The first book was awesome and this one is just as good if not better I hope there are more to come.

The Pretenders (The Similars) (YA)

Emma is still coming to terms with everything that happened her junior year.  So when everyone arrives back at school for their senior year except Levi, Emma is lost.  Did Levi really not want to see her anymore or was Gravelle (the similars guardian) doing more experiments and mind control on him, and Emma now knows she is also a similar, as well as her best friend ever, Ollie now thinking of them more than friends, just might be more than she can take.  But there are more surprises lurking in this book most you won't even see coming.

This is a action packed, suspense filled awesome conclusion to this series.  I will miss it and more would have been nice but I am OK with how it ended.  This is a roller coaster of a ride with tons of sharp twits and turns that will toss you around but the end of the ride is the wildest, so hang on for dear life.

The Mad Mick: The Mad Mick Series, Book 1 (ADULT AUDIO)

Connor Maguire has worked in his mountainous compound in Virginia for that last part of his life making bombs in secret for the government. But now is a very different time as America has been thrust into darkness and the only people you can trust is your family.  For Connor that is his daughter Barb who he almost lost when she was little to a drunk driver.  Connor has trained Barb to take care of herself, but know that she has been kidnapped along with a family friend can she do it on her own or are her hands tied because of the other hostages.  Will it matter with another family friend following her and leaving directions and clues for Conner, the very Mad Mick at this point, who is certainly following them as well.

This book is exciting and filled with action and tons, really tons of suspense.  I want to say that Barb is now my hero and I would love to be like her.  I had the audio narrated by the great Kevin Pierce, who always makes these books so awesome for me, he puts me there right with the characters trying to help the each of them.  This is another wonderful post apocalyptic series from Franklin Horton.  If you liked his others series give this a try, if you haven't read any of his other series than what are you waiting for?

To Sleep in a Sea of Stars (ADULT)

During a scouting mission on a uncolonized planet, Kira finds a ancient place and is exposed to a odd dust that can move by itself.  Things progress fast and furious from there, until war erupts from all sides and from beyond the stars.  How can Kira make this right?
This is a action packed book full of wonderful characters that come together under a very unusual circumstances, one of which normally would not happen.  Kira is a strong main character that finds a way to keep her friends safe.  This is a wonderful book and a great come back for Paolini.

Curtains for Romeo: Coastal Playhouse Mysteries Book One (ADULT AUDIO)

California just wasn't working for Tig, so when she is offered a teaching position in her hometown in the outer banks, she decides to pack up her teenage daughter and move into the house her mother left her upon her death.  What she doesn't expect moving there is that the ghost of her mother still resides in the house and that the teacher positions she got will lead to murder and a old frenemy that now works for the town newspaper blaming it of her. Tig isn't a detective but she used to play a teenage  one on TV will that be enough to exonerate her?

This is a great book (I had the audio narrated by the awesome Kate Rudd which is really good) and I could not put it down.  There are redirects and red herons to keep you from guessing who done it before it is revealed.  It is also a quaint and cozy book, but don't get me wrong Attila brings a certain amount of humor to this book as well, I loved the part about a kitty getting stand your ground rights against a dog in the kitties yard.  This is a wonderful book and I hope you will think so too whether you get the book or audio you can't go wrong.

The Lost Wonderland Diaries (MG)

Celia knows math and logic, Tyrus knows books and imagination, and when the two accidentally find themselves in a different and strange land, they are tasked with finding a way home.  Soon they figure out they are in Wonderland but not the one Tyrus knows or Celia's great great grandfather wrote about in his story about Alice and her adventures here.  But as they work their way through wonderland they make a few friends to help them along the way.
This is a wonderful book on friendship, no matter their differences and how they can do  things better together than separate. Celia is dyslexic (a neurodiversity  that is close to my heart, as I am dyslexic too but no one knew much about it or any of Celia's tips when I was a kid) and Tyrus just likes books and going to those places in his books as a get away, I do this a lot now.  They are both no stranger to being teased and they both are new to the area and school.  So I fell in love with these characters right away, they are perfect for this story.  Although I have never read Alice's adventures I am interested in it now.  The non-stop action and building of suspense are just right and at the right moments.  This is a book for everyone to enjoy as there is something in it for everyone.

Switched On: The Borrowed World Series, Book 6 (ADULT AUDIO)

It has been nine months since the United States collapsed due to major country wide infrastructure failure.  One that our country and economy may never bounce back from.  But there are people trying to start to get some of those systems back up and running, but at what cost?

This is another awesome book in the Borrowed World series, and it won't let you down.  This book is full of action and issues you hope never will strike our boarders.  This book will hold you captive and not let you go until you are done.  If you are lucky to have the audio version narrated by the great voice of Kevin Pierce than you will feel transported into the story and are there to help and fight alongside Jim, his friends, and neighbors.

Scritch Scratch (MG)

Claire is a scientist through and through but that might have to change after helping her Dad one night on his ghost tour of Chicago.  Now she will need to science out a ghost boy that follows her home.
I am sorry I could not give you more of a synopsis but I didn't want to spoil anything for you.  This is a awesome historical fiction of Chicago and some of the coolest stories anybody interested in ghosts could ever ask for, but in the mean time there is also the side story of Claire wanting her best friend back, but she helps her brother as he helps her when he finds out how bad things are for Claire.  This book is full of action, suspense, and friendship.  The characters are well portrayed and story line is so very well thought out and to add the historical side of the story too, just makes this book all the more special.  I can't wait to see what Claire, her family, and her friends get into next.

Catkwondo (PICTURE BOOK)

Kitten wants to break a board, and while she is disappointed it won't happen the first day of class she puts in the work, moves through the belts and finally comes the day for her to try and break the board.
This was a very cute book on patience, perseverance, and coming together as a team.  I believe most children will enjoy this book and even though they might learn something.  The illustrations are so cute this will soon become a fast favorite.

The Silver Arrow (MG)

For Kate's 11th birthday she writes her Uncle Herbert a letter asking for a present since he has never sent her anything before.  What she gets will shake her, her brother Tom, and her parents world to the ground.  Uncle Herbert gives her a train, not a toy train but a real life size train named the Silver Arrow.  Kate and Tom's parents want the train off of their property, but the children and the train have other plans.  That is when Kate and Tom go on the coolest train ride of their lives.

There is a whole lot more to this wonderful story, but you know me and spoilers.  However, I have to admit I was drawn to this story because I have like other of Mr. Grossman's books, but this is totally different and I still couldn't turn it off, I have the audio version narrated by the wonderful voice of Simon Vance which was a great fit for this story.  This is definitely a book you will not want to miss.

Gold Wings Rising (A Skybound Saga book 3) (YA)

In this the third and last book  of the series the war on the ground is done now but now it is Kylee and Brysen turn to fight for the sky.  Everyone wants the ghost eagle for its glory and power.  When a ghost eagle egg appears and Brysen finds it he knows he must take it where it will be safest, the blood birch forest and the owl mothers, and he will need all of his friends and his sister to help him get it there because others have found out what he has. But when Brysen and Kylee uncover the whole story it only confuses things more.
This was the perfect end to the series, it might not be what you expected but it is none the less perfect.  The action hasn't stopped from book one all the way through to the end and the suspense will have you up reading past your bedtime.  This is a great series and one easily overlooked.

Greenfire: A LitRPG Series: Sky Realms Online, Book 4 (ADULT AUDIO)

Just as Hall and his group are settling in to their new life, the rules change and now they must figure out what that means to them as they move forward.  Now that things have settled Hall is tasked with moving his town along in that journey.  They are just far away to make most things hard so Hall decides to see what he can do.  He looks into adding a post office, and maybe even joining the cartographers guild (it seems he is needed more than he needs them) but still negotiating for the things the town needs come first and foremost.
This installment of the Sky Realms series is one of change, that is to not to say that there  aren't loads of action and suspense because there is especially when he meets a demon, and there are new friends to met and of course quests galore, so take a trip with me into the lands of Sky Realm and see where you fit in.  Of course if you want the full immersion feeling of being there and a part of the group than try the audio narrated by the wonderful voice of Pavi Proczko you won't be disappointed.

Soul Riders: Jorvik Calling (Volume 1) (MG AUDIO)

This is a book of the four riders chosen by destiny to face a demon and try and defeat him and his group of riders.  Lisa has just moved to Jorvik and despite all her friends being horse crazy she is not to sure.  Lisa is still coming to terms with her mothers death in a riding accident.  But when one special horse takes to her, her destiny is sealed along with three of her friends.

This is a really good book based on a game named Star Stables.  It follows Lisa the last of the four girls to discover her horse and ability.  If you are a horse lover or just a animal lover you will love this story.  It will keep you up past your bedtime with its action and suspense.  For a real treat try the audio narrated by Jennifer Jill Araya you will fall in love with Starshine and the others as I did.

The Sword: The Project Book 19 (ADULT AUDIO)

Nick and the team are back in action after some idiots threaten his and Selena's twins.  The Job looked like a straight forward easy money maker for the team, Selena translating some old papers about a sword but once she is done this powerful Japanese guy hires the team to find the sword mentioned in the papers.  Easy right?  Not for this team there are always unknown obstacles to hurdle.

This is a wonderful addition to the Project series and stands up to the high standards brought about by the other books in the series.  It is action packed and full of suspense like the other books but I love the different history brought in by each book.  If you are so lucky to have gotten the audios narrated by the wonderful voice of Jack de Golia than you too will feel like you are there along with the team and helping them.  This team has become family and I so love hearing of their  exploited like you would after seeing a cousin and catching up after a year or so.

Traitor (YA)

This story takes place during the Soviet liberation of a town in Poland that had just been in German hands.  The story of a boy half polish half Ukraine, a mix that is the most undesired at his point.  But Tolya does what he must to stay safe and feed.  Until the day comes that changes everything and sends Toyla on the run, not sure who he can trust if anyone.
This is a powerful book about a place you don't hear much about when World War II is talked about.  The children left behind when parents are imprisoned or killed.  Most of the children are smart enough to know who they can trust but some have no one and must do what they can to survive.  The history in this book is awesome and the characters are perfect, this is a book you will not want to miss, non stop action and suspense that will have you holding on to your chair, so be careful.  I hope the author does more books like this as it was such a good book and I hope you all will like it as much as I do.

Kind of a Big Deal (YA)

When her money comes to a end Josie has to put her dream of being on Broadway on hold and take a nanny job.  She has a hard time with not being on Broadway after everyone told her she was so good in High School, so good in fact she left high school early to go to a call and never went back because she was so embarrassed she didn't get the part or any part.  When her job takes her to Missoula she doesn't know what to do.  when she takes Mia, the girl she nanny's for, to the playground she passes a book store on the way and gets a book and reading glasses.  When she starts reading the book she finds herself literally in the book.
This is a cute book with twists and action, not to mention a talking teddy bear.  The plot is new and refreshing among young adult books.  The characters are the best really, who doesn't like Josie Pie and the books she jumps into are great, I hope everyone will like this as much as I do.

Geeger the Robot Goes to School (EARLY READER)

Geeger's job is to eat.  Eat, eat, eat, he is to eat all kinds of trash and recycle it into energy for the town.  But Geeger is board and decides to go to school.  There he finds out quickly there are things at school that look like the trash he is suppose to eat but can not as they are needed for learning.
This was such a cute book and what kid doesn't like robots especially robots that need to learn things they already know.  I really liked this book and all it teaches (of course in a way a child doesn't realize).  I like this book and I hope  you all do as well.

Through My Eyes: CSI Memoirs That Haunt the Soul (ADULT AUDIO)

This is a book not for the faint at heart, it is a true accounting of what one CSI has seen in her years doing the job and can be graphic but honest.  Not to mention the trauma that is left behind after years of this job.  If you have ever thought of becoming a CSI you should read this book and see what it is really like than think long and hard because it is nothing like a TV show.
This job is something you are called to do, like any type of police work from officers, to homicide, to CSI, to the dispatcher that usually deals with the reporting party first, all experience trauma and shock during their days doing this job may follow them the rest of their lives.  It is no secret our family in blue is in a crisis right now and hopefully this helps non LEO's to understand a bit more of what is endured.  I hope that this book helped the author heal in some way by telling her story I now the narrator, Tia Johnson was awesome in the audio book.  This is one not to be missed if  you are the kind of person this book calls too.

Black WIngs Beating (A Skybound Saga Book 1) (YA)

A book of a boy and a girl bound together by birth and bird.  Twins Brysen and Kylee are opposites so together they are at their most complete.   Brysen wants to be the best falconer and have glory, while Kylee wants nothing to do with it and just wants out.  But war has come to their home and now both must embark on a treacherous journey to save each other.
This is a wonderful and action packed book.  The magic doesn't stop from the start until the end and will leave you wanting more.  The first few chapters set up the book but once you get past that it is full steam ahead and no slowing down.  The author has created such wonderful characters including the ghost eagle.  This is a a great YA series, one that should not be overlooked.

Paola Santiago and the River of Tears (MG)

Paola Santiago is a scientist and logical thinker, she believes all the old stories her mom told her are just that stories so scare Pao into not doing things.  Pao, Dante, and Emma are the inseparable trio they are always together and have all been told to stay away from the Gila river, and even more so when a classmate drown there a year ago.  But the Gila is the best place to watch the stars from Emma's telescope.  Pao and Dante must fess up that that is where they where going the night Emma disappears.  Is it the kidnapper from 4 towns away, or is it one of the bad ghosts from Pao's mom stories.
You will need to read this awesome book filled with Hispanic lore, action everywhere, and suspense big enough to fill Emma's house to find out.  This is a fun book especially if you want to be scared but alas it does not take place on Dia de Muertos.  But the characters are fun and true to themselves, their friends, and their families.  This is such a wonderfully diverse book that our shelves so desperately need these days and I can't wait to see what Pao and her friends are up to next.

The Music Box Enigma: A Silas Quinn Mystery Book 7 (ADULT)

Sir Aidan Fonthill has no shortage of people that don't like him, so when he turns up dead before the Christmas concert that was sure to  draw so very important people.  But do any of these people dislike him enough to kill him?  That is what Detective Chief Inspector needs to find out and fast, before any more people are killed. Can the answer be found in the music box delivered to Sir Aidan before his death.
Despite the backstory being a bit wordy and long this book really picks up speed and never slows down once DCI Quinn arrives on the scene.  That is when all the action and suspense starts and there is more than enough to keep everyone reading this book to find out what happens.  Hang in there and you will like this book too.

War Stories (MG)

This is a great story of a World War II veteran and his great grandson who idolizes his great grandpa and everything World War II.  GG or great grandfather is the last soldier alive of the liberation of a small town in France and is asked to come for their 75 anniversary of this liberation to receive a medal and be recognized as a hero, but is he really a hero or a killer (the one war story GG has never told Traver).  GG at 93 has decided he will go to France and retrace  his steps all the way there from boot camp at Fort Benning Georgia to Sainte-Regine France, the city of liberation.
This is a action packed, suspenseful, real war book.  This book will not make war look glamorous, but tells the stories as they happened in a way OK for middle graders.  I want to recognize the author for doing this, to many war stories don't show the way it really is/was, thank you Mr. Korman.  I think this book will even suck in reluctant readers.  As much as I liked this book I am sure kids of all ages will love it as well.

Flushed (ADULT AUDIO)

Poor Marty is having the worst day of his life and it is all happening at work, a job he hasn't had very long at all.  After eating his normal hang over cure of nachos, jalapenos, and hot sauce Marty needs a bathroom and fast.  This is the story of Marty's epic journey across the office and all of the obstacles that are working as the dark force against him.
This is a crude but extremely hilarious book if you are ok with bathroom humor, it is a story that everyone can probably relate to at least some parts.  If you happen to get the audio version narrated by S W Salzman than it really will have you rolling on the floor laughing, so be careful if your listening to this while driving.  This is truly a funny book and I am glad I waited till now to listen to it, as I really needed funny right now.

This is a suspenseful and action full book, with wonderful characters just waiting for their story to be devoured by readers.  If you happen to get the audio version you will love the tag team performance by narrators Aimee Smith and Nicholas Cain, they transform you to the world of water and you become one of the hunted with Sela , Jack and their friends trying to help them at every turn.  Reckless is a rebrand book but to those of us new to the world of water this I hope is just the beginning.

Zombie Perdition (ADULT AUDIO)

Mo and the rest of his party plus new friends are on the Viva Ancora still looking for a cure that is said to be near the sea.  Mo's cousin is on his own type of rescue mission with a helicopter made for many.  While back in Guntersville AL, they are still looking for the missing children, and eating lots of meat and not of the fish variety, and how did the new pastor get all this meat?  So guard yourself well because the blunatics might not be the worst thing coming for you.
Mr Bonds keeps his story going in this the 7th installment of the Still Alive Series, and I am still waiting for more.  This action packed wonderful book has not lost its zing since the first book.  While the story is still happening on different fronts I still find it exciting and new.  The audio version narrated by the wonderful S W Salzman, allows you to lose yourself in the story, I love Mo and I bet Smokes is a site to behold, I feel as though I am there with them on the Viva Ancora in my Ironman best, helping them as much as possible. Really which ever form you get you won't be sorry the protagonists and peevies can have you laughing loudly.  But be aware of the language there is quite a bit so if that bothers you this series isn't for you.

Bitter Pill (ADULT AUDIO)

Three very different people, a doctor who is getting tired of her family practice, a priest who used to be a doctor but is trying to amend for what he thinks are his sins, and a man of the cloth that is tired and ready for a younger person to take over.  Three different tired people, that all end up in one place, their faith.  Three people that need to take the bitter pill and get on with it.
This book was set up well and is very interesting, you won't want to put it  down.  The character development was awesome, you really get to know all the characters as if you are their best friends, the one they tell all their secrets too.  If you are lucky enough to get the audio version narrated by Bill Nevitt than you really will get lost in the story as he has a way of transforming you to that place and time to live with these characters, it is truly amazing.  Which ever format you choose you won't go wrong with this book.

Witch's Pawn (ADULT AUDIO)

Sybella Rose is settling into her position of Queen of New Orleans, even though Demien isn't around much so he has appointed her a vampire like advisor, along with her friends, a ghost and a cat.  But now she is after information about herself that is hard to come by, is she fea?  If she is that might help dealing with the fairies that are trying to destroy New Orleans.  But her father is no help so with friends old and new the hunt is on.
A perfect sequel to The Binding as it picks up right when Sybella and Demien come back from their trip, and now need to settle into their new lives.  The action is non stop and there is suspense galore, but the best is being back in New Orleans, the food, the stores, everything, it makes me homesick to go back but my New Orleans is a older city.  The narration by Teresa Booth will keep you up way past your bedtime as it is so engaging.  What ever platform you choose I think you will love this book and if you are like me you can't wait for more.

Take Me With You (YA)

Take Me With You is a thrilling book about four teens from four totally different backgrounds brought together by a odd message to meet in the band room after school to meet with the band teacher.  That is when the fun begins, the band teacher was not there but there was a funny little black box on the teachers desk and when they go to leave the box asks to be taken with them or else.  No one knew what or else was than the fire alarm goes off and the box demands to be taken with them so they do and the teens lives will never be the same again.
This book started a bit slow to ease you into the characters, but than it speeds up very quickly and hooks you in with all the psychological play.  The characters are well constructed and perfect for their parts.  It is a fast paced, suspenseful and intriguing book that will suck in every reader, reluctant and all ages.

The Binding (ADULT AUDIO)

Sybella Rose has always had a odd connection to things.  But with not much money left after moving to the big easy to live a dream, she finds work in a great little gris gris store under her apt.  But she soon meets a dark figure, Deamian, Who she figures out pretty fast is a vampire, a very rude vampire.  Than she is plunged into the paranormal world that is New Orleans.
This is a awesome book it has action and a ton of suspense, but most of all flavor.  Ms. Clapton has woven this book together into a wonderful pot of gumbo tasting goodness.  I lived in NOLA for several years and this took me right back, I love the characters and their typical laissez les bon temps rouler attitude. The audio was pleasant enough and the different voices are interesting,  but I surely can't wait to hear more.

The Predicament of Persians (ADULT)

This as with all of the Love and Pets romantic comedy series is just a wonderful, sweet book, with just enough comedy to keep a smile on your face if you are not still laughing.Kathleen and her furbaby Juliet the Persian arrive at the catfest hoping to win  the newcomer award and seal a sponsorship with Purina, she just has to beat another Persian named Romeo, and his person, sworn enemy in the Instagram cat photos.   Not to mention their respective fans the Catulets and the Meowtagues.  The one thing Kathleen doesn't plan on is falling in love.
This really is a sweet book with lots of suspense and plenty of humor.  One of which keeps you waiting, reading and laughing.  I hope you all really enjoy this as much as I have.

Compound Fracture (ADULT AUDIO)

Grace is on her way home, but Robert decided to wait for a friend to heal before they left for his house.  Before they could leave the compound a politician with his private army found the compound and have decided to take it for their very own.  What they didn't count on was that this compound was not ordinary and stood their ground against them.
This is a great listen by the wonderful narrator Kevin Pierce, he can bring these stories to life in your head, where you can try and help the Hardwicks on their way.  Bringing all the authors action and deep suspense to life through his voice is truly a gift.  These books are so good I can't wait to see what happens next will everyone finally get where they want to be or make do somewhere else.

Grace Under Fire: The Locker Nine Series, Book 2 (ADULT AUDIO)

This book picks up right after book one, Locker Nine, ends.  Grace is at a compound and was trying to make her way home, she thinks all is OK now as her dad is with her, but she couldn't be more wrong.  Grace gets separated from her dad in a attack but she makes it home only to find more violence, and cruelness of people to take all of what others have. Could a child's misplaced words cost Grace and her family everything?
This, the second book of The Locker Nine series is just as powerful as the first, and makes you think during these times what could have happened, I mean some of the TV footage of the toilet paper debacle was bad enough, now think what could have happened as you read/listen to this suspenseful, action packed series.  The narrator of the audio version, Kevin Pierce, is just wonderful he is a narrator I look for now because he can make a story even more realistic.  Pierce can open this hateful but hopeful world for everybody to take part in.
