Six Days: The Incredible True Story of D-Day's Lost Chapter (ADULT)

Image result for Six Days: The Incredible True Story of D-Day's Lost Chapter
This was a awesome graphic novel and I can't wait for more of it to come out, if this was out when I was a kid I might have liked history much more. This is the story of the 82nd Airborne and how they got dropped behind enemy lines far from where they should have been, and how  they and the villagers battled together for six days in Graignes, France to keep it from the Germans.  The illustrations are phenomenal and the story line even though non fiction is awesome and engaging.  I really have loved these new DC Vertigo comics a lot, all of them, so I will keep trying them as they keep coming out.

Emergency Case (ADULT AUDIO)

This was a great mystery, not exactly a who done it, but still a mystery with a murder, well a few murders.  Kelly a doctor, knew her husband, Jack, had been acting odd but figured they would get through it.  But when she hit a bump backing out of her garage only to find it is a dead guy and a client of her husbands, things get real interesting real fast.
This book is full of action, suspense, and I am not sure if the author meant it to be or if it is just my background but there where some funny parts too.  If you want a book that keeps you guessing this is the one for you, as it will certainly keep you guessing until the end.  If you are like me and choose the audio version than you are in for a treat as Bill Nevitt is a wonderful narrator  and will keep you listening a lot longer than you planned.  His different voices for the different characters will have you believing they are there with you telling you their story. This book is a fun read or listen which ever you choose you won't go wrong.

Masada's Gate: A Space Opera Noir Technothriller (The SynCorp Saga: Empire Earth Book 2) (ADULT)

Masada's Gate picks up right where Valhalla Station left off with the syndicate  leaders on the run from Cassandra and the SSR (Soldiers of the Solar Revolution).  But when all seems lost can three people thwart the main front and hold it long enough to to give the Corp a new day?
This book is just as energetic and action packed as the first.  The suspense at times will have you holding your breath.  It is one of the few books where you like people on both sides of the coin so depending on the situation you might be rooting for either the syndicate or the SSR.    Masada's Gate extends on story plots from Valhalla Station and set us up for the third book, Serpent's Fury.

Dawn of the Enemy: A Raina Storm Action Thriller, Book 2 (ADULT AUDIO)

When the team finds out there is a bounty on Raina's head after their little job in Columbia, they know they need to get her back to the USA and in a safe place for her safety and that of her daughter, the only problem is they have to wait for her to make contact with them first.
This is a  spin off of the Whitney Steele series but that aside Raina is interesting enough she can have her own series.  Raina used to be a assassin but she put it aside now that she is a mom, but she keeps getting pulled in because she is a mom. This book is so full  of action and suspense, that you won't be able to put it down, it will keep you up way past your bedtime to see what happens next, and if you are like me and get the audio version you will start hanging out in strange places just so you can get a few more minutes in any where you can, because Sarah Colton is a wonderful narrator and makes you feel as though you are part of the team, so of course you have to be there to stay and help with next mission right?

Second Chances (ADULT AUDIO)

Inga Klein's life was totally changed by Adolph Hitler and the Third Reich, they took everything from her, her father, her home, her mother, and finally the love of her life, Fritz.  But despite all of that she made it to America got her law degree, pasted the bar, and had her son.
This is a great historical fiction book and I liked it a lot the characters were very believable and well defined, there was plenty of action, and the whole book is suspense.  The level of details in the book remarkable.  If you are able get the audio narrated by Bill Nevitt he is very talented and he brings the book alive  for you, his voices for the characters and accents bring the book to a different level.  Either way you chose you can't go wrong as this is a great book.

Twelve year old criminal mastermind, Artemis will stop at nothing to get what he wants, but does he really know what he is getting into when he kidnaps the fairy Holly Short of the LEPrecon Unit?
This is not a new book, it has been around for a while but there have been talks of it becoming a movie for years, and years, oh, and years.  But the wait is over and now, this summer, we will see Artemis and Holly (and I suppose Root, Foley, and Butler as well) on the big screen.  So in preparation they are re-releasing the series with new killer, artwork on the covers.   These books were awesome then and are still just as good now, full of action and suspense, not mention the farting and explosive pooping tunnel dwarf.  This really is a great series that can span generations and I am totally happy I survived the wait to finally see the movie version, and so is my nephew.

Black Acres: The Complete Collection (ADULT AUDIO)

Kim and Julian were looking for their first house when they found the deal of the century, the perfect fixer upper with land in a secluded area, the Beacon House.  They get the house below market, move in, and start right in on the renovations.  But shortly after they move in strange things start to happen, could this have anything to do with the previous owners disappearance?
This is a great, but creepy, book!  This is not the book you want to read (or listen too) home, alone, on a dark and stormy night.   The characters are interesting and even if you think you don't like them they are right for the part, it works out.  I am not sure how the author kept track of all the loose end and got them all tied up but he did, it was  masterful.  If you get a chance get the audio, narrator Joe Hempel turns the creep factor up another notch.  Hempel is awesome keeping all the characters straight and  making the scenes so vivid, it is like you are there actually seeing it live, which in this case I am glad I was not, but still enjoyed the audio very much.

Southern Lady Code: Essays (ADULT)

This book is hilarious it will have you laughing out loud with these twenty three essays.  With writer Helen Ellis' mantra "if you  don't have something nice to say, say something not-so-nice in a nice way. Say "weathered" instead of  "she looks like a cake left out in the rain." This a book that will have you hooked from the start and you will not want to put it down until you are finished which won't take long as this book is a fast read because it is so fun, especially if you are from the south you will be laughing and saying yes, and if you are not from the south than it will give you more insight.  Either way this is a fun book for all.

Revelation: A Kid Sensation Novel (YA AUDIO)

The strain of being a teen superhero can be tremendous, especially when your dad is the most powerful superhero around.  But Jim thinks he is going nuts when he  thinks he  is being follow but he kind of forgets about it when his uncle  (who he has never met) shows up and says his dad is missing and he finds out his deranged half brother has escaped secure imprisonment as well.
This is not our normal superhero story as Kid Sensation (AKA Jim, or should that be the other way around?) does have normal teen issues to deal with as well, girlfriend problems, being left home alone even though he can teleport anywhere he likes, thing like that and more.  I think that is one  of the things that has drawn me to these stories, and since I don't have super eyes I get the audio version that stars voice actor Mikael Naramore who is just great with the voices of all the characters in the book, he truly is remarkable.  He and author Hardman do a invisible dance to get the story told with all the action and suspense relayed to the audience in a way that is  just wonderful to listen too and listener will not want to stop, maybe that could be a awesome superpower.

Mountain of Whispers: Island of Fog, Book 3 (MG AUDIO)

Hal and his friends were looking for a rest but it didn't work out that way.  They must head to the Mountain of Whispers in hopes the old man with the visions is wrong, but what they find is even more disturbing than anyone ever thought possible, now everyone on this side of the fog must come together to fight for their way of life or  be over run.
This is the last of the trilogy of the Island of Fog books, (Island of Fog Book 1, Labyrinth of Fire Book 2) and it doesn't  disappoint.  This book is just as upbeat, full of action, suspense that will have  you holding your breath, and if you are lucky and have  the audio version you can experience it all as if you are really there with all of them and part of the group, as voice actor Fred Wolinsky does a awesome job doing  voices for all of the characters just as he did in the first two books.  He really makes this series one you will want to listen to again and again.  It is so awesome when a authors story and narrator click like this, if  you have not tried the audio you are missing out, but it is a wonderful book as it is.

A Monster Like Me (MG)

Sophie knows all there is to know about other worldly creatures, from her new best friend being a fairy, and the nice witch down the street, to the goblin boy and his orc friend that makes her world horrid, to the fact that she herself  is a monster, cursed as a baby to be a monster with the big blob of a monster mark that takes up half her face.  This mark is what made her and her mom move to this new town this year, but maybe just maybe she has found a cure for the curse.
This is a awesome book of strength and diversity among children, one to have the strength to finally make a stand against those who are mean and the others to willing accept others for who they are on the inside not what they look like on the outside, even when pressured not to.  This book will no doubt keep the attention of all that reads it just to find out what happens to Sophie and her friends in the next chapter, than the next and the next, until it is well past your bedtime.  Children as well as adults will find this book in captivating so look for it in many book clubs to come.  These children can be found in any school in any town if we just look, maybe not to this extent but I would bet there is always one child bullied for something if not more, and I just hope they have a fairy friend to help them with their goblins and orcs like Sophie did.

Greystone Secrets #1: The Strangers (MG)

This is a new series by Margaret Peterson Haddix and let me say it is another home run, she has knocked this one out of the park as well.  Siblings Chess (oldest sibling and protector) , Finn  (youngest sibling and best at being cute and silly) and Emma (middle sibling and best at math and codes) must figure out the clues and codes left behind when their mother disappears after leaving them in the care of Ms. Morales and her teenage daughter Natalie. But were those secrets ones they were to find just yet or when they are much older?  Did the kidnapped kids from a few days before have anything to do with it, they did have the same names and ages as Chess, Emma and Finn?  So many questions the children need answers to in order to find their mother, can they do it?
This book is awesome! So much action and suspense and twists and turns that you will think you are on a roller coaster at times so hold on to your lunch.  This is definitely a book that will have you up past your bedtime just to see what happens next.  The characters are great my favorites are a toss up between the very strong Natalie and the coming into herself Emma, they are not overbearingly so that boys won't like the story but I hope girls will see these girls strengths and take that away. Anyway you want to look at it, it is a great book and I think  tweens as well as young adults and adults are going to love  this series

Super Sons: The PolarShield Project (MG)

This is a fresh take on the super hero story, and it turned out awesome I wasn't ready for it to end. Now that the coastal cities are flooded and the ice packs are melting two unlikely boys come together and become friends, along with a strange girl named Candice, the boys learn to work together to save the town they both now live in and more.  Batman's son ( Ian) and Superman's son (Jon) team up in this the first installment of the Super Sons and it is one not to be missed, this is a great graphic novel and I can't wait for more I hope I get to review the next one as well.

Valhalla Station: A Space Opera Noir Technothriller (The SynCorp Saga: Empire Earth Book 1) (ADULT)

The duo of Bruns and Pourteau have a certain hit on there hands as Valhalla Station takes center stage in a very up and coming genre.  SynCorp has saved the people from earth when it failed and now takes care of every aspect of these same peoples lives, health, food, entertainment, and work.  Some say SynCorp is  a savior others slavers, but the five factions that make SynCorps rule are forever pushing and pulling for power.  But what happens when a group gather together and decide they no longer want to be under SynCorps rule and want it for themselves, do they have what it takes to over throw five factions by themselves, can they gain the support they need, or do the people even want this?
This was such a exciting book from the start, full of action and suspense, with some surprises built in to keep  you on your toes,  The characters are very well defined and interesting and some will surprise you as they come out of their shell.  But the story is solid and will race to the end it will keep you up well past your bedtime to finish and find out what happens.  Valhalla Station will definitely keep you eagerly waiting for Masada's Gate the next book, because I can't wait!

Whiskey Devils (ADULT AUDIO)

Powers finally quits his cubical, time clock job to go to work for his best friend and roommate Nick.  But is the grass really greener on the other side of the grow lamp?  When Nick's secrets come out things get complex and Powers is stuck in the middle.
This book is full of action, twists and turns that will keep you in suspense and hanging on to your seat with both hands at times.  Audio narrator Jack de Golia will make you feel as if you are there and a part of Nick's group.  This book was wonderful and would have you up past your bedtime to see what would happen next to the guys or in my case with the audio sitting in the parking lot a bit extra before work or at lunch listening to see what happened next.  I will be looking for more books by this author and narrator as both were awesome.

Dragon School, Books 6-10 (YA)

As the gang is back and the story continues from the the last book Dragon School 1-5.  Amel and Hubric are now student and teacher and Savette and Rakturan are together even with Savette's condition, and they have a dead but not dead dragon. So between these four humans, oh and don't forget the Dominar, and the three dragons, some of which have secrets of their own,. Things are certainly becoming interesting and maybe very important in the future for their worlds.
This is a awesome series that is jammed packed with action and and suspense.  The twists and turns will have your head spinning at times in a good way, and you will stay up late reading or in my case take the long way to and from work to listen more to the audio version that was so good as narrator Jigisha Patel does such a wonderful job transporting you into the world with Amel and Raolcan.  This is a great series and I can't wait to hear more.

When Spring Comes to the DMZ (PICTURE BOOK)

This is a very interesting book, it describes the Korean demilitarized zone not only in the spring but through all the seasons through a little boys eyes.  He see what the animals do, what the soldiers do, even what his Grandfather does but the worst is what he can not do.
This was a good book, very informative for teaching how others live, very diverse.  I loved how it was seen through the little boys eyes as he had grown up with it with all this, because even as he mentioned things  like the barbed wire, it was  done in passing like it was just part of life, always been there always will be.   The illustrations are out of this world and the surprise at the end of the book is wonderful, truly artistic.  Do not forget to read some of the author notes at the end those have some really good things to talk about especially the one about the animals on the DMZ.  Although I am not to crazy about their target age group preschool - 3 (it might work), I think it would work better for younger elementary schoolers, but that is just me.  I still loved the book and its diversity.

Dragon School Episodes 1-5 (YA)

Welcome to the world of Amel Leafbough cripple and dragon rider initiate.  Instead of being a strain on her family she decided to go to Dragon School where best case she will become a dragon rider worst case a servant to dragon riders.  First main test is picking your dragon, but did Amel pass or fail that test as her dragon actually picked her, as it seems purple dragons do, however, the secret of the purples is that they talk to their riders in their heads.  Dragon and riders talking to each will become immensely important in the near future with all that is about to come and Raolcan teaming with Amel gives Amel the confidence she needs to be the purple rider she wants to be despite her disability.
This is a wonderful book with action galore.  The characters are awesome,  Amel is my new hero, and Raolcan is totally awesome, other character to keep you on your toes are  Leng, Hubric, Rakturan  and Savette, they all have their roles and they are all important but it will be interesting to see where their roles take them.  I was  lucky enough to have gotten the audio narrated by Jigisha Patel and let me say it was great I can't recommend it more she has the relationship you would imagine Amel and Raolcan down and takes you to their world.  Her voice shapes everything in way that takes you to their world and makes you fell as though you are a part of the action going on there.  It was enough I shed a tear when it was done knowing I didn't have the next set yet and would have to wait to get it to find out what happens. I also love that this is a diverse book and we all know we need many more diverse books in our world today.

Seventh Grade vs. the Galaxy (MG)

Seventh Grade vs. the Galaxy by [Levy, Joshua S.]
PS 118 is your typical school, in the future, except it is a bit run down.  But it is still the school of Jupiter's orbit, at least until it gets attacked, than all the weird and strangeness happens, and it is somehow left to three of the students to try and make everything right.  This book is set at warp speed and never slows down I think Mr. Levy has a great book and I can not wait to see what happens in the next book.

The Secret Identity of Annie Banks (Mondial Book 2) (YA)

This is the second book in the Mondial series, the first is Atticus Crayle Accidental Spy ,  and it is just as good.   I would put this series in my awesome but unknown books for young adults catagory and that is a shame because I really think teens would like them, and this series is unisex as the girls are in it just as much as the boys so far, they each have their skill set so don't get wrapped up in the books names.  The characters are awesome and the action never stops but watch out for the twists and turns we don't want anyone falling out of their chairs and don't forget your flashlight because you will want to read past your bedtime to see what happens to Annie and her brother Pete.

The Gamer Chronicles (Future Chronicles Book 19) (ADULT)

It should be no surprise by now that I am not only a big fan of anything gaming, tech, hacker/jacker, kind of books, but also any Samuel Peralta Chronicles, so put the two together and you know I am right on it.  This particular Chronicle brought eleven authors together under one title, some of my favorites stories are:

Gam3rGurl by  Christopher Boore - Grace's life is falling apart but a chance to go to a all gamers school comes along so she snags it and dives head first into the online world but is it to real?
Game Chat by Ernest Egher - Harry just wants to find a planet where he and his friends can build there own little kingdom in the game world but this person N00BK!LLA68 keeps killing them no matter what they do.  So how do they win against this guy or can they and who is it?
Virtual Hero by Anthea Sharp - Rod is a top ranked raid leader on the servers but actually he is in high school but soon his skills will be tested in real life will he be up for it?
Love, Virtuality, and the Good Kill by SaulTanpepper - Eric pilots a remote ground drone and for extra money his wife decides to beta test a computer holographic game.  Eric noticed how realistic it is and how much she was playing it, but thought it was good for their relationship since he was being deployed for several months.  How good is it really for their relationship?
The Sandbox by Jon Frater - What would you do to get the best and baddest ship in the game you are playing so you can find people to play with?  Would you spend all your money on the best gear, best lootboxes? Steal money when yours run out? From who, your family, work other people?

There are even more authors I didn't mention and they have great stories as well so this is a great time to either read some of your friends work or meet some new authors and maybe find a bunch of new friends, either way I don't think you will be disappointed.

The Fur Trade Gamble: North West Company on the Pacific Slope, 1800-1820 (ADULT AUDIO)

This is a book about the fur trade and how it began in the Pacific Northwest, it holds a very detailed account of this and is interesting when you think of how it was back then with no amenities  and how cold and wet the winters were, not to mention the disease.  This was a interesting book and with narrator Bill Nevitt lending his voice to the audio production it was awesome as I could just lose myself in the world of trappers and Native Americans and be there with them traveling the waterways, I love how audios suck you in like that.  I can't wait to find more by this narrator.

Immoral Code (YA)

How far would you go to help your friend reach her dreams?  For Nari, San, and Reese there was no question they would give up what they had and go to jail to help Bellamy go to MIT but Keagan he just went along but wasn't to sure about it.  But was the code really that solid?
This book is full of action, and awesome characters that belong together, they can be so different but at the same time the same, it just fits.  The suspense in this book at times you could cut with a knife, so remember to breath, maybe even cheer for the kids they might need it, just remember what getting caught means to everyone, and I think you will love this book if you can handle the code.

Beyond the Cabin (ADULT AUDIO)

Josh a boy becomes a man because he has to, to protect those he loves from those that are suppose to love them.  But in this cult family that are suppose to be god fearing people, it seems they have lost track of  the importance of what is in front of their face.
This is a well paced book with great characters that are somewhat based on a true story that the author lived through himself.  The twists and turns will keep you reading and cheering Josh and his siblings on as you learn each of their stories that even each of them didn't know and they where living in the same house.  If you are lucky enough to get the audio version narrated by Bill Nevitt than you are in for a treat, as his voice adds just a little bit of something special to the story that will make it unforgettable.  This book is really good but I was sadden to hear the part that the author went through any part of this  but maybe by spreading the word someone really can help one of these children some day.

EKHO 2: Worldwide Alien Resistance (MG)

Bullies beware Elvis and the gang are back and they will not tolerate any bullying of anyone in this the sequel to EKHO (Evil Kids Hunting Organization).  This year they even have a guy on the inside a DEKE, one of their agents is defecting, but there is more weirdness going on than just that.  Every time the schools announcement radio comes on the DEKE kids do really strange things than Elvis and his crew find that that the DEKE's have these weird implants that cause voice to skull communication and even more Elvis finds out it is not just his school it is schools all over the world, alien technology.   This is a awesome anti-bullying book without kids knowing it because it adds so much more to it like the aliens.  If you go and read Marie and especially Max Jones story you will see where EKHO started and it is such a awesome story and would be awesome if we did have EKHO chapters in schools. I have been hooked on the EKHO book since I read the first one several years ago by accident and been bugging for another, now that it is finally here it is as good as I expected and will be bugging for book 3 now so watch out world.

The House on Turner Lane (ADULT AUDIO)

When Olivia goes missing on a hiking trip her sister Rachel has to put the pieces together to find out what happened to her.   Arnold convinced his disabled mom to put two of their empty rooms up for rent to earn them extra cash, and him some extra footage, and who knows what else in the house.  This can be a creepy book and the awesome voices of the character if you have the audio done by the wonderful voice actor Jack de Golia makes it even creeper in parts, he does such a greet job on all of the characters.  But at the heart of the book is a murder mystery that you want to help Rachel with but can't.  This book will keep you on the edge of your seat and rooting for the good guys through all of the action and suspense, and the worst part is you can have a Arnold in your neighborhood and never know it.

The Amber Light: Black Acres, Book 3 (ADULT AUDIO)

This was a awesome and exciting installment to the series and one made very much better by Narrator Joe Hempel if you are doing the audio version.  Either format is so much fun with this series it reminds me of the old time penny dreadful where the suck you in and you have to wait for the next installment to see what happens to the main characters. These characters are great and work together to bring the story out, while the story  itself has all the twists and turns and actions that will suck you in and not let you go just like the Amber light that is shining to bring you in.

The Friendship War (MG)

Grace and Ellie have been friends forever and now since the school has been taken over by button fever their friendship has becomes strained, if you will, each wanting to do one better.  Grace has always been in the shadow of Ellie but not this time she wants to shine and Ellie isn't taking it very well, and all because of buttons.  This is a great book on friendship (new and old) and overcoming obstacles, as this book might surprise you at the end.

Welcome to 4B (Bad Kids in 4B) (YA)

After circumstances send Mila to live with her Aunt far from what she knows, and her friends in the blink of a eye and with out being able to say goodbye, she has a bad week in her new school.  But making her teacher cry was the breaking point, she gets sent to room 4B, but the  kids in there are nothing like her  they are angry and have real problems, Mila is the popular type, she is a cheerleader. She wants out but the principal won't let her, not yet.  She also wants her mom out but the doctors say not yet, will she find the strength and patience to make it through both.  This was a wonderful book for teen reluctant readers or readers who might have issues in their lives too.  This book has the a bit of everything action, drama, and suspense to keep any reader engaged.  The characters are kids taken right out of a high school.  This is a really good book and I can't wait until I can get the next one to see what happens to Mila, her Aunt, her mother, and her friends now.

Run: End Times Alaska, Book 2 (ADULT AUDIO)

The whole gang is back and Russians are closing in, it is time to make the hard decisions, so  what are the answers?  Another grab you and not let you go book by author Craig Martelle.  He brings Alaska and the story alive for the reader and it feels like you must make this decision as well.  Chuck and his young family plus all of of the people at the resort must decide if they want to make the 300 mile trip to Canada or stay where they are and take their chances against the Russians, what will they do?  If  you like audios this series narrated by Chris Abernathy is a great one when you finish  one you will want the next one right away so make sure you have the credits or the budget.

Endure: End Times Alaska, Book 1 (ADULT AUDIO)

I got the first book on a whim and when I got around to listening to it I had to hurry and buy the next one right away and now I am saving to get the rest.  This is a book that will keep you up past your bedtime or have you taking the long way home from work so you can listen longer if you have the audio version which by the way is well worth it as narrator Chris Abernathy does such a awesome job you will want all of them as a audio.  Craig Martelle brings Alaska alive in this post apocalyptic series where it seems only Alaska is attacked and Chuck and his young family has to survive but to what lengths will  they have to go to survive?

Trackers 4: The Damned (A Post-Apocalyptic Survival Series) (ADULT AUDIO)

This has been my favorite series by Nicholas Sansbury Smith and I suppose that makes this one of the harder reviews to write, for I will miss Creek, Raven and the rest of the gang, some more than others.  It is a better sweet end to a tough subject, a subject made tougher because at any point it could come true. This is just another awesome book by a wonderful author that will have you on the edge of your seat and staying up way past your bedtime or in my case taking the long way home from work to listen a little bit longer as audio narrator Bronson Pinchot is great with all the voices for the characters.

A Thousand Sisters: The Heroic Airwomen of the Soviet Union in World War II (YA)

This is more of a non fiction book of the famous women that made up the Night Witches Regiment of the Soviet Union, one of three regiments of women you still don't hear much about on the history channel or in history books but made such a big difference in the war they fought and died in.  Most of the Night Witches were just teens trying to help their country.  Elizabeth Wein is a master at telling the story of those whose story might have been lost to time and death, and this is no different, the story of the Night Witches is one that needs to be shouted out and not forgotten, that those women were heroes for their country and should be remembered as such and for what women can do.  It was a sisterhood, a bond, that can't be broken.
This is a wonderful book of heroism and a unbreakable bond.  It shows what heart really is during a trying and awful time.  Elizabeth Wein has another great book on her hands and we hope she never stops writing about these wonder women from both sides.

Polar Vortex (ADULT)

Everything seems fine on Mitch and his daughter's flight back to the states from visiting his wife's parents.  His wife stayed behind to deal with her parents last minute arrangements while her brother, a pilot, offers a upgrade if Mitch and their daughter fly home on his flight. Until everything goes wrong.
This is a book of love, betrayal, survival, and sacrifice plus more.  It is a wonderful, powerful book that you won't want to miss.

Polar Vortex (ADULT)

An awesome action packed, roller coaster ride book about a man who will do anything so his daughter can survive, after the plane they were in, flying home, crashed somewhere over the North Pole. But there are so many obstacles in their way it will have you holding your breath and up way past your bedtime to see what happens.  I loved this book, it was so  exciting and grabbed, and sucked me in from the start and didn't let me go until the end.  Mr. Mather has  a way  with his characters and the way he integrates things in the news today into his books. One thing for sure this book won't disappoint.

The Transparency Tonic (Potion Masters) (MG)

This is the sequel to the wonderful first book Potion Masters Eternity Elixir, and it is well worth the wait.  This book has just as much action and suspense if not more, you will be reading past your bedtime until you are finished.  Gordy and his friends have teamed up again to fight against those that wish to do harm to innocent people and the elixirists at B.R.E.W. like his mom.  But strange things have been happening, Gordy brewing strange things and not remembering doing it, the new chancellor at B.R.E.W. who has it out for Gordy's mom, and what about Gordy's grandfather?
This book is for you if you like books  you just can not put down, and if you haven't read the first one yet well there is still time to get it in before this one comes out.

The Similars (YA)

Imagine going back to school after your best friend just committed suicide only to find a guy there that looks exactly like him.  That is what happen to Emma on her first day back at the Darkwood Academy, were the clone kids have been accepted as students for their last two years of high school.  And then you get sucked into this wonderful book and all its twists and turns and suspense, I really don't want to go much into it but there are surprises around several corners.  This book is really good and will have you up past your bedtime reading it is that good, it will suck you in and not let you go until you are done and can breathe again.
