Resurrection: A Post-Apocalyptic Zombie Thriller: Arize, Book 1 (ADULT AUDIO)

A long dormant virus is released from the colds of Alaska and travels out as those in the research party go home and travel on breaks.  One of the researchers suffers a fever than goes on a killing spree, as another felt like she had the flu for a couple of days but recovers.  Within days the virus is everywhere and many many people are dying and infecting others, chaos is rampant and the military is trying to help along with a mega church minister who is prospering from it.

This is a good book if not a bit close to home at the moment.  The narrator Kevin Clay does a wonderful job making you feel as though you are there and going through all of this with Dr. Perriman and her family.  This is a refreshing look at zombies.

When You Had Power (Nothing is Promised 1) (YA)

Lucia Ramirez has had her fair share of troubles but she hopes this new duty station will be different.  But from day one things are off her house mates tell her of unscheduled power outages, which should not happen, and meeting some of her new colleagues are very strange.  But the real trouble starts when she notices some things under the water that are very curious and shouldn't be there.  She doesn't know what to do and and how her house mates will take all of this trouble while she is still on probation there.

This is a awesome new book set in a up and coming genre of hope punk.  It stars a very diverse cast of characters and has action and suspense galore.  This is the kind of book you would hope your teens and young adults will read.  Susan K Quinn has a way of drawing you in and making you read well past your bedtime than and leaving you waiting for more, thank goodness the next one will be out soon, I really can't wait.

A Campy Christmas: A Frannie Shoemaker Campground Adventure (ADULT AUDIO)

As the holidays approach the Shoemakers and Ferraros have decided since none of the kids are coming home to take the campers south to visit family in Texas.  But when a snow storm stops them in their tracks they must make due until  the camp site can be dug out.  Their first visitor is a scrawny pup who they bring in from the cold.  But on a trip around the bathhouse to find other useful items they discover a frozen man, and bring him into their warm camper and help him warm up. meanwhile salvaging their own Christmas.

This is a very cute novella that I loved a lot it is sure to get you in the holiday spirit. It ties up how Christmas should be, and it rarely is the picture perfect one but it is the one that you have so make it work and remember what Christmas really is.

Trip the Runner (ADULT AUDIO)

Trip won a medal at the Olympics way back for running but he still thinks it will carry him through life, you know that five minutes of fame.  Lately he has become unbearable to his parents and others.  But when he goes on a date with the nicest, most wonderful girl in town and does nothing but insult and belittle her in front of the towns people at a local bar it is decided that Trip needs to do things on his own now and his parents packed him a suitcase and tough loved him right out of the house. Trip finds himself begging a local farmer for a place to stay and a job.  Hopefully, the work on the farm will change Trip's attitude for the better.

This was a great book and a awesome audio-book narrated by Harriett Hunt.  It is a wonderful, quick, funny at times read.  Trip is just that kind of guy and to see if his life can change is a wonderful but sad and happy at times look at this spoiled rich kid life.  But I think there is something hidden in there all of us could learn as well.  Be kind because kindness has not been cancelled.

Big Easy (ADULT AUDIO)

When someone starts killing the street people of New Orleans detective Tony Nicosia, Fat Tony who isn't very fat anymore, and PI Wyatt Thomas interest get raised and they will do what it takes to find the person or person's behind the killings.  Wyatt is one of the few private Investigators that believe and will investigate the paranormal that lives and grows in the big easy, and he knows everyone of any importance.

This book captures the life of the big easy so well, New Orleanians still believe in the voodoo and the paranormal, good food, and their love for this city.  I loved the book it made me homesick for a shrimp Po Boy, and even though there are a few rough spots at the beginning they get smoothed out pretty fast.  Narrator Joe Hempel paints a vocal picture of everything so it is like we are there watching, it is really good.  Audio or print I don't thing you can go wrong with this book.
