Trusted: Dragons' Trust Book 1 (YA AUDIO)

Renick, Lainey, and Thane find themselves scrambling to prove worthy to live after rescuing a baby dragon and delivering it back to its family.  Just teens themselves and far from home they never expected to be in this predicament, but here they are mining for nothing in the dragon mines awaiting their sentence.  But when a cave in occurs and they stay behind instead of escaping like the others, will that help their case or just prove to the dragons more of their stupidity.
This was a really good action packed, very suspenseful, dragon/human book.  I was touching at times and infuriating at others, but so good you don’t want it to end and when it does you cannot wait for the next book to see what happens.  If you like dragons you will like this book, it is not like all the others but is a really different wonderful change that is well worth the time and will have people looking for the next book, and if you are lucky enough to have gotten the audio version narrated by the awesome Fred Wolinsky than you are in for a treat as he must have a million voices, as he has a different voice for every character in the book, he is such a talented voice actor he transports you to Helath Forrest so you are right there with our friends and all of those dragons, it is so worth it if you can get the audio. I for one will be waiting for the next one to come out on audio, if you can’t wait the book and ebook forms are out now.

Night Society (ADULT AUDIO)

Worst game ever! It was just supposed to be something kind of spooky for the three guys to get together and do, and the old abandon house on the outskirts of town was a great place to meet, but when things started appearing during the week in their everyday lives it wasn’t much of a game anymore.
This was an exciting, spooky, action packed, and very suspenseful book, with twists, turns and pitfalls everywhere.  Oh my gosh I loved it, and with narrator Joe Hempel lending his expertise to the audio it was awesome.  Mr. Hempel takes you there so you can see the sight, smell the smells, and fell what is to be felt.  This is not a book for the faint of heart but if you indulge, it is a fast and furious ride one you won’t forget anytime soon

Olento Research Box Set (ADULT AUDIO)

This is a great series merging Sarah Noffke's awesome world of dream travelers with a world of twelve genetically altered men to make them dream travelers slash werewolves.  Sounds outrageous, not so much when you read or listen to this series, this author can make anything happen and have it all sound perfectly normal.  Not forgetting all the action and suspense that is also going on at the same time, oh and if you are already familiar with the dream travelers, yes Ren sort of makes a appearance, if you could call it that, he never could leave well enough alone.  I really like all of these books, and can not wait to see what is coming next, this has become a world that I really enjoy escaping too, and narrator Elizabeth Klett has really spun a vision for me of the institute and each of the characters so that I feel as though I am there and a part of the Lucidites, and I would thank them both (narrator and author) for the escape time, it is awesome.

Strangers: The Orphan series Vol 3 (ADULT AUDIO)

Everyone is back but who will last this round of the zombie apocalypse?  These aren't like the ones you see on TV, the slow moving zombies, these are quick and nimble zombies that can jump, run and do things inhumanly possibly, which makes it almost impossible to fight, almost.  But now there is even one more thing against the humans left that are trying to hang on against these zombies and you will have to read or listen to find out what it is.
This is another awesome action and suspense packed volume by author Mike Evans.  This author is a visionary as he seems to be able to see 15 steps ahead at all times, sometimes into the next volume of the series to make everything work, it is truly a great, wonderful read or if you are lucky to  listen to these books narrated by Jack Wallen Jr. as he has done a exceptional job with these books and the numerous characters, giving each their own voice and character.  This is a wonderful book in either medium if you are a zombie lover so give it a try.

The Policewoman (ADULT)

Sarah is a up and coming policewoman from a military family, and she has been recruited to a narcoterrorism joint task force combining several countries.  But when the drug cartel kills her fiancé and takes her little sister hostage all rules go out the window.
This is a great military tactic book with the most badass female lead character you will ever want to meet, Sarah is so awesome!!!  The plot can be a bit slow to start so you get all the background you need for the rest of the book, especially if you are not familiar with some of the military procedures, but stick with it, it is well worth it later.  The action picks up speed and does nothing but go faster and faster until the end of the book, and the twists and turns will shake you all up.  All in all I really liked this book and can't wait for more from this author and the rumor is there is more coming.

Artemis (ADULT)

Artemis is a city on the moon, and Jazz the not so perfect, or depending on how you look at it perfect lunar girl.  Jazz grew up in Artemis and became the go to person for those items that shall we say are most difficult to find in the Artesian stores.  Jazz can think on her feet and stay one step ahead of most of the people around her, until they start dying.
This was an awesome book, if you are looking for a continuation of The Martian stop now this one is totally different book and great in its own way.  The characters are cool and diverse but come together, the surroundings are great and add just that much hardship and sciency funness to the book, and his space facts are actually realistic.  I really enjoyed this book and can’t wait for this one to hit the silver screen as well or to see what Mr. Weir has up his space sleeve next.

HA! HA! HA! A Supervillain Anthology (ADULT)

Twelve authors have come together bringing their "A" game of villainy to this book and they did not disappoint. Some stories include:

Supervillainy 101 by Chris Pourteau - Chris Pourteau also has two anthologies out that benefit Pets for Vets that are really awesome so if you find you like this format for finding new authors be sure to look for his Chronicle Worlds: Tail of Dystopia and Tails of the Apocalypse. - His story is about Professor Death and his last day and reporter Sheryl Stone and how the Professor (he was a real Professor) want to give his only interview to local reporter Sheryl.  The rest you'll have to read to find out why and what happens.

Tick Tock by Christopher J Valin - Chistopher Valin is the author of the renown Red Raptor series and if you have not tried those you should if you like superhero books they are awesome -  His story is about a villain trying to catch a hero by holding his sidekick hostage, again you will have to read to see how things turn out.

Ghosts of the Flame by Hall and Beaulieu - this duo has many credits to their name and occasionally you might find one without the other but not often they do a lot of these anthologies but what caught my attention was a full length novel they did called Brother Dust The Resurgence, it was so good - their story is about some kids scavenging after the apocalypse for what ever is useful in some buildings when in one building they find some ghosts, sorry from here you have to read to find out what happens.
Steve Beaulieu also has another story in this anthology called POW - It is about a reporter that is being falsely imprisoned with some villains and now he is determined to tell their story, or will he, read and see.

Finally, so I can leave you to discover some on your own, there is Counter Clockwise by Ed Gosney - author of Prometheus Stumbles, the story of how one little plastic turtle can change the world, no not really just seeing if you were paying attention, but it is a pretty awesome story - Counter Clockwise is the story of a baseball pitcher with anger issues, but he finds if he wishes really hard he can turn back time and get a do over, but with power comes great responsibility.

This is just a small part of what you will get inside HA1 HA! HA! so if you think this sounds pretty good please give it a try and find some new authors for yourself.

Nevermoor The Trial of Morrigan Crow (MG)

Morrigan Crow is not exactly what she seems, she is not your typical eleven year old, she is cursed, or is she?  Everyone in her town thinks she is, including her family and that means that on eventide she  will die, as all cursed children do. But her eventide is very peculiar, especially when the stranger shows up, Jupiter North, and takes her away to his town, illegally I might add and their adventures are just beginning there.
This is a awesome book full of adventure, suspense, and more twists than a roller coaster.  This book is only slightly reminiscent of Harry Potter and Percy Jackson, but if you are a fan of those chances are you would like this especially if you are team Hermione or team Annabeth.  The wondrous made up world of the free states reminds me of something out of Willy Wonka with its brolly rail and the smoking room (you don't actually smoke in it), and who can forget the mean old Wondersmith? This really is a book you won't want to put down.

Black Moon Rising: The Library Book 2 (MG)

The library exists outside of time, and Marcus is a agent of the library just like his biological dad was before him.  It is Marcus' job to finish writing peoples stories, that usually means there are disturbances out in the world and once Marcus figures out what is causing the disturbance and corrects it, than the person at the center of the disturbance story can be finished.  The disturbance this time is centered in a middle school in Massachusetts, but Marcus needs help so he recruits his best friends Theo and Lu to come along with him, but it is a race they must finish before the black moon rises or the disturbance is permeant, and the story is finished all wrong.
This is a awesome book, full of action and suspense, but what will keep you reading just one more chapter and one more and one more and one more and on and on is the twists and turns that you will never see coming, every time you think you know who it is or who is doing it everything will change. That is so cool, I love the chance to guess but never knowing until the end who actually is who and actually did what, and Mr. MacHale is one of the best at this.  Now I just need to go back and save up for book one so I can let you all know all about Surrender The Key: The Library Book 1, so stay tuned.

Renegade Martin Luther The Graphic Biography (GRAPHIC NOVEL)

I think this is a awesome book for our older teens/new adult crowd especially to tell them the story of Martin Luther and the Reformation, this being the 500 anniversary.  It is told in a way that is much more appealing to that age group than a normal book would be that they would be expected to take home and read.  I know I would have never have read just a plain book on Luther's life however, when I saw this book I was instantly drawn to it and wanted to read it.  This book did not disappoint either, I enjoyed it a lot, the illustrations are awesome, but can be dark at times, so maybe not for small children, and the dialog was awesome as it followed Luther's life from boyhood on up. This book really made history fun for me and made it kind of alive in a sense, it was really cool.

Monster (Gone series book 7) (YA)

If you are familiar with Michael Grant's Gone series than Monster takes place four years after the bubble breaks.  More meteors are falling down to earth and more humans are changing into mutants, some good some bad, and the government can do nothing about them.
While I admit the Gone series has been on my TBR list for a long time now and I only realized after reading Monster that it was even part of the series.  So if you are a hard core Gone fan you might feel different, but I loved the book.  Non-stop action, a few twists, but over all the suspense will have you reading well past your bedtime, it was awesome!

Configured (YA)

What do you do when you live in a place where you are suppose to show no feelings but just do what you are told to do, when you are supposed to do it, and do it to the best of your ability.  But for Avlyn she wanted to be good so she even took the advanced medtech and got some extra money for doing it, now she is seeing odd visions and she thinks they are of her dead twin brother Ben, and these visions send her down the dangerous road of rebellion.
This book is awesome, hold your breath suspense, read past your bedtime non stop action, and roller coaster twist and turns, I really hope I can review the rest of the trilogy at some point, this book was so much fun.  Some people compare this book to Hunger Games or Divergent, I think it is its own book, but if you look hard enough at anything you can find similarities, and yes I can see some over tones, it is dystopian after all.  But who am I to tell you this pick up your own copy and find our for yourself, who knows you might even join the rebellion.

Brother Dust: The Resurgence (ADULT AUDIO)

Brother Dust an abomination born among the dust, fighting those responsible for drilling and bowing to the high father, while trying to give those on the planets affected a little more time.
This is  one of the best sci-fi, space, dystopian books I have read/listened to.  It started off fast and never  slowed down, it had me hooked from the very beginning.  The action and suspense was non stop, it kept my focus as I tried to figure things out before they happened, but it never worked.  I really enjoyed this book and the imagination it took to create a world like this and its colorful characters, it is phenomenal, also phenomenal is the narration job by voice actor Scott Berrier keeping all the characters voices straight and different took a lot of skill.  It is well worth the listen if you are a audiobook person like I am, I will certainly be looking for more books narrated by Mr. Berrier, not to mention books written by Mr. Hall and Mr. Beaulieu.

The Atlantis Stone: The Project Book 12 (ADULT AUDIO)

The team is back although some members are more fit than others, when Selena gets a odd package through her agent with a map and some pictures of odd glyphs that she needs to decipher.  But what Selena finds sends the team to foreign lands to investigate further.  What they don't know is the Russians are following them, and the Russian are having a inter-agency war and it all involves the  Project Team.
This is another wonderful suspense filled, action packed, hundred mile a hour charge ahead book by Alex Lukeman.  I don't know where he gets his book energy from, but may it never end as well as the Project Team.  I love these books, they are great and mix a bit of history in as well.  If you are a audiobook fan like me than this is a treat, because Jack de Golia is one of the best and he has done all of the Project series so far, so he IS the voice of the team members.

Better Off Changing Hearts Series Prequel (YA AUDIO)

Ariana has never been allowed to have a boyfriend but she is turning 17 and thinks she knows more than her parents, especially since meeting Carlos at a party and he has shown a interest in her.  She doesn't even care what her brother Jimmy thinks, when he tries to tell her Carlos isn't the guy for her, and he would do anything for her.  So who will be right, will love triumph or those that know her best.
This was a great book it really does capture teen rebellion and sneakiness very well along with the. "I know what I am doing" attitude and mindset.  Although I think Ariana's parents were a bit strict for todays standards, I suppose there are still a few parents like that.  I had the audio narrated by Ramona Master who did a awesome job, and with the audio you can really hear the snarkiness in Ariana's voice, and the cool and calmness in Jimmy's voice.  This is a great series but one I really enjoy as a audio, since Ms. Master is so good at this cast.

Superteam The Red Raptor Files Part 2 (YA)

Sawyer, AKA Red Raptor is fed up with the guild rules and decides he will just start his own team to fight crime in the city, and let the super chips fall where they may.  And while that doesn't exactly goes as well as planned, it could have been much worse, I mean heck the world could have been taken over or something.  In the mean time Sawyer's mom and recently found biological dad have decided he needs to get a job and his dad knows just the spot, one of his burger joints, close to their apartment building.
I  am going to leave the description there before I give to much away, I will just say that the Red Raptor is no Spider-Man and when you get to a certain part of the book you will totally understand that statement as you are laughing and cheering him on.  It is for this reason I love this series, the sidekicks are doing a very serious job but some times the way they go about it is very in orthodox and very humorous.  This was a great sequel to Sidekick, And I hope there are more Red Raptor stories to come.
